Brewing with Günther Thömmes from Bierzauberei went great last week: We brewed our interpretation of a Keut - with nutmeg, cumin, cardamom and coriander. The presentation will take place on the 21st of December at Gasthaus Am Ritter in Cologne.
Monday, we had Adam Vavrick from The Publican in Chicago as a guest for a special brew. The restaurant gets regulary listed as one of the Top 50 restaurants in the US and so it was a special honour to brew a separate beer for them. We ...decided to use German black bread and rye bread and support it with some smoke and sourishness. This should pair very well with the famous chicken from The Publican.
Tomorrow, I will fly to Barcelona for the Lambic & Sour 2017 at NaparBCN.

- Strawberry Eisbock Forever (Eisbock of a Strawberry Wheat Ale)
- Room 237 (brewed with Pirate Brew Berlin and Orca brau; tomato beer with smoked chipotles, black Kampot pepper and salt)
- Wenn du DANKst du DANKst, dann DANKst du nur du DANKst (brewed with Bierol from Austria and RAR Brewing from Cambridge [Maryland]; a Cannabis hazy and danky IPA)

We have some new beers available for that: "Ünderweär" (8% strong smoked beer made with Against The Grain Brewery) and "Wenn du dankst du dankst, dann dankst du nur du dankst"... (Cannabis Hazy IPA made with Bierol and RAR Brewing) are just very nice ones next to Abraxxxas, Mamma Mia and Kwasimodo.

It's very nice to be back in Vienna. Since yesterday, the team of BIERFRACHT.AT and me pouring a list of 20 different beers at Braukulturwochen of Ottakringer Brauerei to show a good amount of spectrum of beer taste to the thirsty Vienna crowd. The weather is hot, so you want to taste even more

Last month, there were sad news about the insolvency of Erzbierschof in Switzerland. Toni Flükiger started his company back in 2010, shortly after I started with my beer business and we had a similar, but still different way over the years. Both of us started with an online shop with a similar portfolio through our common understanding of beer, but I also started with Freigeist at the same time. Toni would open his first beer bar and three more over the next years and gave up...

And it goes on.... today, I'm travelling to Italy for attending Arrogant Sour Festival 2017 on all days.
Afterwards, it's time for an expanded US trip again with starting my own US brewed beer series with a new brand to be brewed at Against the Grain and to get launched soon. A special Focus of some of the future beers will be the content of a lot of different smoked characters with own smoked malts - a long time dream is coming true!
Next to that, there will be quite some e...xciting brewing and blending action happening at e.g. Upland, Pizza Port, Steel & Oak, Holy Mountain, E9 Brewing, Wolves & People, De Garde.
Talking about brewing and blending, our coolship project is bringing up nice results, but obviously needs a lot of patience. After more then one year in the barrels, Urgose 2015 made with Ritterguts Gose is soon ready to get published.
