I look forward to the day when everyone is accepted for who they are without condemnation. As a State Representative I will work to advance social justice for all LGBTQ people. Cheers for Trey Pearson's courage in announcing his truth to what is sure to be a hostile audience.

Mr. Pearson, 35, lead singer of Everyday Sunday, joins several other Christian musicians who have come out.

Leadership at work. If I am elected, I will fight to pass comprehensive ‪#‎climate‬ legislation that will help us meet our federal requirements under the Clean Air Act.

After withdrawing an earlier proposal, Gov. Jay Inslee’s administration is pushing ahead with a revised Clean Air Rule that would cut greenhouse- gas emissions in Washington but give some concessions to industry.

I am pleased and honored to announce that American Federation of Teachers Washington - who represent faculty at The Evergreen State College and South Puget Sound Community College has given me their sole endorsement. I share their vision of "a just society with access for all to unions, education, health care, and social programs that provide equal opportunity."

Washington is one of only 3 states in the country where the number of people living in poverty is increasing. We have the most regressive tax system in the nation. The argument that poor and working class people continue to carry the tax burden in our state to fuel economic growth is illogical. We gave Boeing $8.7 billion in tax breaks in 2013 and they are still moving jobs out of state cutting Washington jobs by 10% just this year.

Calling our richest citizens "wealth produc...ers" is insulting and offensive to all of the hard working citizens of Washington. Every one of us is a wealth producer. Teachers produce wealth, construction workers produce wealth, home care providers produce wealth. Even conservative think tank writers produce wealth while arguing that we all just feed on crumbs falling from wealthy tables.

An income tax test case is brewing in the city of Olympia. On the heels of what many agree is a flawed local income tax petition, the Olympia City Council is drafting its own ordinance to become the first city in Washington to impose an income tax.
