Please help us fund the needed repairs to America's oldest ballpark to ensure future generations can enjoy this national treasure!
On Tuesday, March 20 at 10:00 a.m., NOMBERG LAW LIVE will host an interview with Clarence Watkins, the Executive Director of the Friends of Rickwood.
Rickwood Fans -- We are pleased to announce that this year's special guest for the Rickwood Classic is Bucky Dent. Dent played 12 big league seasons for the White Sox, Yankees, Rangers and Royals. He is best remembered for hitting a 3-run home run for the Yankees off Boston's Mike Torrez in a 1-game playoff that capped the Yankees dramatic comeback season (the Yanks trailed the Sox by 14 games on July 19). A three-time all-star, Dent also won the MVP in the 1978 World Series posting a gaudy .417 batting average with 10 hits and 7 RBI's. In addition, Dent has a Rickwood Field connection, as he played for the AA Knoxville Sox in the Southern League for the entire 1972 season.
The Rickwood Classic is set for Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 12:30 p.m.
Great segment on our local CBS affiliate WIAT Channel 42
Thank you Clarence Watkins

Levy’s has been the presenting sponsor of the Classic.
Both Levy’s and the Nomberg Law Firm support Birmingham Barons & Rickwood. We encourage our friends to continue supporting them as well.

We baseball lovers live for days like this. Heartiest congratulations to Southern League alumni Chipper Jones (Greenville Braves ‘92) and Trevor Hoffman (Chattanooga Lookouts ‘91-‘92), along with Jim Thome and Vladimir Guerrero on their election to Cooperstown. They all are very deserving. Fans of the Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels & Montreal Expos have something to celebrate.
We are seeing progress in the repairs at Rickwood. A large load of lumber was brought in. The holes drilled in the first base walk ways have been covered. The lumber is being used to construct forms to cover up the opening below the stands. (See attached photos). Pouring concrete can't be far away. Rickwood comes off the DL soon. On February 1, 2018 Miles College will play a home game; local high schools will also be using the ballpark. And, on May 30, 2018, the Rickwood Classic Returns to America's Oldest Ballpark. Stay tuned for details regarding the special guest.
