Saturday continues with Pauls 50th Birthday Bash at Carthay Circle Restaurant and Calvin's Blue Plate Special for those who didn't get a ticket to the Carthay Circle dinner.
Calvin will be showing off his new Pokémon GO skills and encouraging everyone to set free their inner Pokémon Trainer and have some fun!
Laura, Steve, Glowmom and Eric W host events after dinner to round out a full day of friends, food and fun!
After Kungaloosh, we shall find somewhere to eat. We're thinking (maybe) pizza party (Matterhorn Pizza is AWESOME!) at Marri's Italian Restaurant. It's walking distance from Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar!
The FriendsoftheMagic Gathering at Disneyland begins this year with the Kungaloosh meet at Tangaroa Terrace... in the air-conditioning and where we can enjoy meeting everyone. Be sure to pick up a drink at Steakhouse 55 lounge or Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar before heading over. Alcohol IS allowed inside Tangaroa Terrace.
Scott and Tracey will kick off their event during the Kungaloosh meet, too, so stick around!
The 2016 FriendsoftheMagic schedule will be released later today (Tuesday 8/2) via the wttm podcast feed and as a pdf download link on this page.
We are excited to see you all this weekend!!
Maybe I'll try this tomorrow... ~Paul
I know the name of the drink! I mentioned to several people at the Kungaloosh meet that I had asked the bartender for something that would taste kind of like a... Tequila Sunrise without the alcohol. He said that the alcohol gave the Tequila Sunrise its flavor and offered to mix me up a fruit punch instead. It was really good. When I told this story someone said I should remember the name of the drink so I could order it again. The bartender never called it a name, but I found a name on the receipt - "NA (I assume for non-alcoholic) Jungle River Sunset". Of course, he may just have made up a name on the spot, but it's worth trying next year.
