I'm obsessed with this place. The owner is a sweetheart- I ended up buying a little notebook and he wrapped it up beautifully and even attached a little flower to the tissue paper. So much love put into every single detail of this store.

I went in on Friday Nov. 24. I was shopping for souvenirs and also for my daughter's birthday gifts. I had such a great experience in this store. Very friendly staff and the owner is so friendly and h...as such a great personality. The service that was given to me left me with a big smile of my face and left the store very happy about my purchases. All the items in this store are guaranteed to add a touch of life in your house or in your life. I highly recommend a visit to this store, you will not regret it. Ps. I had a hard time not buying the entire store! I wish I had more money ;) hehehehe. See More

We went out of our way on our last day in New York to visit this shop. So glad we did. The place is amazing, I'd happily buy everything and make my house look like this. The gentleman who owns it (unf...ortunately we neglected to get his name) may be the loveliest and most generous person I have met for a long time. Visiting Fuego 718 has been a major highlight of our honeymoon and we will treasure the painting we bought (bride and groom skeletons) and the pretty tin heart that we were given by the owner. I wish him and his partner all the happiness in the world. See More

I love all things sugar skull & am a serious collector. While visiting Brooklyn to say goodbye to my mom who is dying of pancreatic cancer we went to the store because mom loved it. The man who waited... on us remembered mom and not only shared his memories of her & words of wisdom on how to handle the passing of a parent but also gave us a hug and a smile just when we needed it the most.a 100 % amazing site, man and experience !!!!!!!

We bought a few things and he wrapped them beautifully and made us smile on one of the hardest days of our life. The artwork, books, skulls, incense, everything is beautiful and hung with care. It is a sugar skull Disneyland with reasonable prices as well

I will be a loyal customer every time I come back.

One of the most amazing experiences I have ever had with any human EVER! I was here almost a year ago and I walked in with my band and we were in awe. Taking in all the amazing art and atmosphere. It ...transported us away from our extremely stressful tour. We spent an hour or so looking around. My band bought me the most beautiful cross as a "Thank You" for being the only driver. The man who helped us and I assume owns this amazing place was incredible and became our philosopher that day. "When you are a good person, you get friends like this." is what he said to me as I cried when they made the purchase. What an experience. I will never forget it. Can't wait to visit again when I drive down from Toronto. Wish I could go right now! Thank you again!!! See More

By far one of the best shopping experiences in my vacation. We got some cool art first. We payed and almost left to continue our cite-seen tour but my husband and I walk back in 3 times with some othe...r cool findings. A skull cushion, some interesting antique India chandeliers and some other stuff.
We were treated in the nicest way by the owner, just like if we were old friends.
You can find great presents even for kids.

She would love that you remembered her and... I am sure your beautiful spirit is the reason she enjoyed your place so much. ¨New York Times.....Fuego 718 in Williamsburg, a Shop Where Every Day Is the Day of the Dead
Alex Aldama opened Fuego 718 in 2004, stocking it exclusively with items imported from Mexico. He has since relaxed that criterion to include ephemera from Peru, Haiti, Vietnam and India, as well... as crafts by local artists. Aside from the fact that everything is handmade, the common thread seems to be a chaotic, cartoony vividness.
Fuego has become known for its window displays, which Mr. Aldama started to focus on a few years ago, building elaborate scenes with mannequins and plastic plants, and sometimes failing to include anything for sale in the store. It was a necessary innovation in an increasingly busy neighborhood, but the work seems to have paid off.
“Kids were stopping and going ‘Aah! Mommy look!’ ” Mr. Aldama said.
Holidays season. Enjoy Life!!!!!
