I had never even tried Jewish food. Not so easy to find in England. Had a lovely meal here. You've got to try the sharing starters, and the roast goose leg is something else. Friendly service and reas...onably priced wine. What's not to like? See More

We had THE most wonderful meal there that brought me right back to my childhood with each bite.
Goose soup with matzo ball was rich and warming. Picked vegetable plate included green tomatoes that ...brought a smile to my face. The goulash with spaetzel was out of this world. The crispy duck ( half a whole duck... enough for two) was SOooo tender and delicious inside, and sat atop sweet and sour red cabbage and a potato-onion mash.
BUT the piece-de-resistance was the simple noodles and cottage cheese drizzled with sour cream and garnished with goose cracklings. It all brought me right back to the food from my Hungarian grandparents and almost made me cry! I would go back to Budapest just to eat here!

Loved the food. We ate there 2 times in a row and both times it was great. We went for the Jewish specialties and they were all great. Furthermore, the atmosphere is nice. The restaurant looks like a and the service was friendly and efficient. I would definitely go back next time visiting Budapest. See More

A real gem! We had an amazing meal in this beautiful little restaurant. The duck and goulash were lovely. If we had been there longer we would have defiantly been back a 2nd time.

We had the dinner there because it close to my hotel and had good reviews from others. We order the meat ball soup as starter but it is a bit salty to me. Then the stew beef and goose legs are in go...od portion which can feed 3 people for two dishes. See a lot of pictures of celebrity?? Bishop, etc on the wall. Guess it runs for a long time ago with loyal supporters. Price is reasonable for couple or family if want to taste traditional Hugarian food. See More

The Grandmother's Jewish eggs appetizer was inedible, and the translation sucked. Nobody ate it, but the waiter didn't ask how it was.

Dishes were really poorly designed. Carelessly thrown on the plate.

One of the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Terrible service, rude waitresses, the food was average, the smell of oil - bad ventillation. Guys, please avoid this place if you can.

Great meal, The Matzo Ball soup shouldn't be missed. Yet a couple minor things prevent the the 5th star. If you find yourself nearby, definitely give them a shot!

Loved the local vibe. Ordered bean Goulash and matzo ball soup to start. Delicious and perfect size. Chicken with gnocchi was soft and delicious. Crispy duck leg with potato latkes was an amazing clas...sic choice. See More

Went there without a reservation. The waiter looked and talked to us like we were thieves. Literally one of the worst ways a waiter ever talked and behaved towards us.

Really recommend the Házilag füstölt marhaszegy sült burgonyával (Hickory smoked beef brisket with chips).

We are at Fulemule Restaurant... with authentic Jewish Hungarian food. Nothing fancy but very good.

a sólet összehoz

Budapest ikonikus sóletlelőhely. S egyáltalán, jobbak a zsidó kaják, mint például New Yorkban, ami ha csak Brooklynt vesszük figyelembe, már elég nagy dicséret.

köszönjük/many thanks

Establishments across the city serve up the traditional meat and bean stew every day of the week -- but what's the cause of the Hungarians' Jewish food craze?

A piacon jártunk 😎😁🇪🇸☀️

Many Budapest restaurants pay homage to the city's Jewish past with kosher-style dishes. See where you find the best cholent, matzo ball soup, and gefilte fish.
