Today I had a difficult drive for the last time with our little cutie Teyla. 9 months ago my daughter and I picked out our little crazy girl and gave her a home for the year. Sadly with our family the best thing for Teyla was to give her up for adoption. While it was emotional I knew it was what’s best. And about 8 hours later I received an email that warmed my heart and I knew it was the right decision.....Teyla has already found a new family! I couldn’t be happier with the people at Furkids in Alpharetta and Nick Gentile has been absolutely amazing. Thank you Furkids for helping Teyla find a new home and a family that will love her. I hope this is the correct agency. In 2006 I volunteered for the Small Dog Rescue who used to have their pet adoptions at Pet Smart in Sandy Springs. My intention was to foster, but I took one look at... “John Wayne/Oscar” who was a 3-4 year old pug mix no one wanted, and it was over for me. I kept volunteering on the weekends, but I adopted him, named him Frankie, and the rest was history.

My sweet baby boy Frankie traveled the world with me, never left my side, was a joy to love, and was my faithful companion for all of these years.

Frankie passed away at 14 years of age on January 16th, 2018. I wanted to thank you for allowing me to love him for this many years. Bless you for the work you do. My angel is watching over me now.

Thank you for the selfless work you do. God bless.

There was a cat that I wanted from another foundation that treated me terribly through the whole process. While searching I fell in love with the profile of Duckie (now named Aspara-Gus) through Furki...ds. I addressed the concerns that the other foundation had (even considered minor and ridiculous by the foster working with the foundation of the other cat) and was open and honest through the whole application and adoption process. I had a hole in my heart for a boy tuxedo cat since my last cat passed and Duckie fit the description of the boy that would fit well in my home. I was able to adopt Duckie with no problems. They were thorough and caring and I loved visiting the other adoptable cats as well. Duckie (Gus) is now super happy in his new home with us and we are overjoyed having him here. Thank you Furkids for believing in me and your understanding! See More

Refused to adopt a kitten to a KY adopter because we own 11 healthy cats instead of only 9, and because we don't have our strictly-indoor cats vaccinated for rabies every year. We were ready to drive ...6 hours to Atlanta to bring the kitten, Jill, Forever Home. I notice on the Furkids FB page that they kept one cat in their shelter for 10 years before she was adopted - and I am assuming that during those ten years, the cat shared the shelter with more than 9 other cats. I offered to give references from people within the rescue community who know me and have visited my home and met my cats. That offer was refused. Rules are fine until they prevent a kitten from being adopted into a safe and loving home. At that point, those rules become cruel to everyone involved, especially to the kitten whose best interest should be a rescue's top priority. See More

We lost our 13 year old girl to bone cancer in early December and had just started looking for a new roommate for our senior boy. We visited a few places before Furkids in Alpharetta. We went to meet ...a specific pup we’d seen on their web page but quickly realized we hadn’t made the right choice us. As we were leaving, Julie (the adoption manager I think) asked if we would meet a girl she thought we’d like and, wow, was she right! We adopted “Julie Lynn” that day and she has seamlessly joined our home! Furkids’ staff and volunteers are just outstanding and we are telling all our friends! See More

I had such a wonderful experience at Furkids. From the moment I walked in to leaving with my new babies, they were great. It’s so easy because they send them home with all their shots, spay/ neuter, m...edication (if it pertains). They even sent food! Literally all you have to worry about is taking them home and loving them. And they have so many beautiful cats and kittens! Go on a Saturday morning if you want a kitten. See More

I stumbled across this wonderful no-kill animal shelter while intending to adopt a cat elsewhere from another facility. So glad I found Furkids! The personalized customer support I received online, th...rough email, text messages, and in person from volunteers and employees was amazing. Every question I asked (and I had many) was immediately answered, even during a holiday weekend after I brought my two beautiful cats home. I can't say enough good things about Furkids. I wish I had room in my home, and money enough to adopt several more cats from Furkids, but since I don't, I just want to encourage everyone to support this shelter. It's obvious to me that Furkids provides compassionate and loving care, and conscientious adoption services, for every animal that comes into its doors. See More

Furkids is a no-kill animal rescue in Alpharetta, GA with the most amazing and caring staff. Their facility is clean and well-maintained. Furkids should be the first place to look if you are thinking ...about bringing an animal into your home. And if you are not looking to adopt, definitely donate to this amazing organization. See More

We have had a rescue dog from Furkids for almost five years. As part of their adoption agreement if your pet develops any heath issues that are about your resources to treat , they want to be notified... so they can see if they can help . If you can’t keep your pet for any reason , they want the pet back. If you are coming to an end of life decision , they want to be involved. Wonderful People
Our dog has a heath issue that is going to be expensive to treat . He’s not a young fellow any more either. It’s questionable as to what is the best way to move forward. I contacted his rescue mom and she gave me the name of a Veterinarian on the other side of town who treats rescued animals at very reasonable prices. I obviously at this point don’t know his outcome, but I at least want to try to save him and keep his quality of life .
Furkids tries to fit the right dog with the right person and are their years later to help if needed. I don’t know how they could be an better rescue organization. I would give them 6 stars if I could. Too many wonderful cats and dogs out there folks , don’t buy , save a life and rescue

This rescue was very knowledgeable of the animals they had for adoption and everyone was very nice in helping us find the right fit. The location we went to in Alpharetta was very clean and seemed wel...l maintained. Upon adoption, they provide a goodie bag for your pet. We went home with our dog the same day and we couldn't have asked for a better fit dog to join our family! See More

Very disappointed & heartbroken. Followed the instructions as required by completing an online application in addition to phoning & sending two emails. During this 4 day period the dog I was longing t...o adopt was listed on their website, but never got a response back as promised. Today, I looked online & sadly the dog is no longer listed. Organization never responded back like stated on their website & emails in 24-72 hrs, either way. As a senior citizen who's longing for a companion, I respectfully & patiently waited only to be devastated & heartbroken. Pray they respect & treat animals better than I was treated. See More

Such a wonderful, caring staff and clean, comforting facility. I love the free-range environment at this no-kill shelter --- as well as all of the staff and volunteers who quite obviously consider work more a labor of love than a job. My contact, Jeanni, was available by phone or text at all times of the day and night to answer questions up until the adoption of our two dear five-or-so-year-old kitties, Thomas and Lucy. Our family loves FurKids! See More

FurKids is probably one of the best shelters in Georgia. My girlfriend and I have been wanting a dog for such a long time, and the day after we applied I got a call from Ashley and she was able to me so much personal information about each dog we were interested in; it really showed me how much time they spend with each dog at the shelter. Ashley kept in contact with us regularly before we visited and before we knew it we met and had to adopt Popsicle (we renamed her Poppy). It's only been 4 days since our adoption and Poppy has been nothing less than perfect. I don't normally give any businesses reviews unless I felt the service was exceptional, and those over at FurKids' are just that. In the future, we hope to adopt from them again. Applying is worth it, these employees really care about their animals. I hope someone adopts Vincent Van Gogh soon!!! See More

I have called several times and messaged several times as well. I have gotten no response! I was told the gentleman over the foundation wld call me...again never happened. We are just wanting our dog ...back. It was taken and the MC shelter lied about having her. She is a very special part of our family. I don't understand why we are having this problem. Your plan is to find dogs their forever loving home; Kimber had that and for some reason you won't contact me so I can get her back!! I'm very displeased with this foundation!! See More

I was shown a picture of Herculres the weekend of March 10th and took him home on the 21st. A fairly painless process for a Shelter that really cares about placing these dogs in a good home. I am so h...appy his sad history did not break his spirit. I could not have a better dog! See More

We're in love with our sweet cat from Furkids. Easy process from beginning to end. Caring and knowledgeable staff. Would adopt from them again in a heartbeat.
