Anyone have a river running down their street? You know some of that can be harvested for later use or kept on your property through landscape contouring. What would that do for your plants and your water bill?

I Helped Roy from Roy's Bees with a hive removal today (lots of work!) When bees sense danger they start to consume honey and nectar like crazy. Here is some comb we extracted. It will be placed in a new hive. I'm always fascinated when observing bee behavior. Watch them drink up that nectar.

We just inspected my modified Warre hive today. The bees were calm and the frames were full of nectar, pollen and honey. You can see how the wrong spacing betwe...en the boxes made prying it off a little harder, but way better than not having frames. This experimental modification was a success!

We modified some langstroth frames and foundation to fit my Warre. Seems to be working even if the spacing isn't great. No cross comb.
