I took my first sewing class here yesterday and loved every minute of it. From the moment I walked into the store I was greeted by friendly and happy staff. (And not the kind that are all over you eit...her the minute you walk in the door trying to sell you something!!) Virginia was an excellent teacher, gave such clear instructions, patient and a great fun attitude. Its clear that she loves what she does!. The store is just a little piece of heaven, fabrics of all colors and types with a great selection and is clean, fun and inviting. A great creative space. Can't wait to book in for another class ! I took my first sewing class "sewing basics" last week. I really enjoyed the class size and set up. I went back for "studio time" this week and was nervous as it was going to be my first solo sewing e...xperience. The staff made me feel right at home and answered all my silly questions! I signed up for two more classes next month! I am SO excited to keep learning to sew!

The ONLY reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that they were strictly business during the class. Part of the reason I attended class was to try to make friends as someone new to the area. They do not leave time for that and can get sassy if you are a talker. Not a huge deal but now I know for the future and so do you!

What a great shop! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The class I took was excellent, and I feel like I learned so much! I also super-love that they have a special shelf with local yarn b...ecause that is the first thing I like to ask about in any lys. Can't wait to come back again! See More

Gather here is much more than a store. The staff really make you feel welcome and know SO much about fiber arts. You can go in there with any project in mind, and they will know exactly what you need.... The space itself is bright, fun, and inviting. I thoroughly enjoy the time that I spend here. I have taken a couple classes and each is better than the one before. They’re hands on, enthusiastic, and you end up with a great project. I could really go on and on! It’s fabulous! See More

Helpful, friendly staff made getting back into knitting after 7+ years away a breeze. They set me up with a tablet to browse for patterns online and then printed the one I chose for me before showing all the different types of yarn they had that would work with the pattern. Not the cheapest place to go, but the excellent service they provide and knowledge that they share more than justifies the price in my opinion. See More

I haven't taken a class here yet but the people here are amazing--Molly in particular.I was just someone off the street and for 15 mins straight she told me about the classes showed me the place and so nice.I mean who does that?!? I highly recommend if your only just curious to come by.I also went at during a time when there were no other customers about 3:30 on a Monday
but they are super and know a lot about sewing and quilting. They've got tons of materials and patterns and they carry lots of the little details too.Very impressed.Go in!

My girlfriend walks by here and gets a glazed over look in her eyes. I've lost her in the aisles for days at a time. It's gotten to the point that I make sure she has at least 48 hours worth of potabl...e water and protein bars before she goes in there. Everything smells really nice and everyone that works there is super polite and they don't even look at you weird when you start opening up all the drawers and giggling at the buttons.

In all seriousness Gather Here stands for classic New England beliefs: Frugality, Community, Education and Self-Reliance. I'm proud to call them my neighbors.

The coolest fabric store I have ever seen! Incredible layout, unbelievable class space and machine set-up, large available work areas and great selection of fabrics and yarn. If you are looking for ...indie patterns or small, locally designed products, you will find them all here under one roof. There are lots of finished projects to inspire you as well. It looks small from the outside but don't let that fool you - there is plenty of space and great light/lighting to take it all in. I am so glad that I made the trip to check it out. I know that I will be a frequent visitor to the shop. Check them out! See More

Gather Here is one of my favorite places to go and when I walk in its a mix of comfortable relaxing calmness and excitement to find my newest inspiration. The staff is composed of an amazing set of c...rafters who help in every way you could imagine. I am admittedly a regular and try to take at least one sewing class a month. I have learned so much from them and would recommend it to anyone! The quality of the fabrics and notions I find in their shop is the best. Definitely a one of a kind welcoming space for a variety of crafters to make something. See More

I really like their selection of unique yarn and fabric and the prices are great. The sales staff goes over and beyond to help.

I am a little sad because I signed up for a class, knitted Bray hat- a... lace and cable beanie, the project was not suitable for allotted time four beginners like me. So I never was able to finish my hat.

I had a few gift certificates from family for them I signed up for two more classes, "The Age of Brass & Steam Kerchief" and how to learn to make pj pants. I bought the yarn for the kerchief class, but then it was cancelled because I was the only one enrolled. They did credit me the cancelled class.

I then got the flu that everyone got in the winter which turned to a severe sinus infection and forgot to call to cancel the basic sewing class, so I lost $55. I came back today with the yarn I bought for the kerchief class with my receipts and they would not allow me to return the yarn because it was over a month and the dye lot may have changed I lost $25.50. It did plainly say it on the bottom of their receipt and the class policy is on their website if you can't make it. I lost a gift of $80.50 so I will keep buying yarn for already planned projects and will probably use YouTube to learn how to knit lace and use a sewing machine. AndreaB

I love this place. Every craft is possible there and they make it fun to learn. I was just a knitter before this shop opened; now I also sew, embroider, and crochet.

I took my first sewing class ever last night at Gather Here -it was fun and I learned so much so quickly and I actually made a real, live, functioning tote bag! (ok, maybe it's not actually LIVE, but know what I mean :) ) -and Emma, our instructor, was awesome. Looking forward to my next class soon! See More

Large variety of high quality products, helpful staff, beautiful colors. Bit pricey, but that's because it's high quality.
