First time trying this place and I was extremely happy that I did! I was late getting lunch and wanted something quick that wasn't huge so I ordered the reuben sliders and grabbed it to go. It was $...5.95 so I expected a couple of smallish sliders. Nope -- it was a full reuben cut into quarters. Very big for the price. Better than that, it was awesome! Cheesy, ooey, gooey with everything
you want in a reuben. Plenty of meat, tons of cheese, snappy sauerkraut , decent amount of 1000 island, toasted bread. Well done guys! I'll be back.

This is the first time I have eaten at Genesis café on Virginia Street. It was Monday at lunch, and not unusually busy for downtown. I called my order in advance, and was given five minutes to pick-up.... When I arrived five minutes later; I found myself waiting an additional
five minutes to pay. I contribute this blunder to the singular registered operated by three cashiers. My two classic hotdogs all the way could have had a little less "all the way". A mound of chili and coleslaw soaked in mustard collapsed inside my box like a West Virginia mudslide. The flavor was decent but I had to close my office blinds in shame to eat the messy catastroph e. I can only describe my first experience at Genesis café as not impressed.

My coworkers and I love having somewhere in walking distance. Everyone was friendly. The Cuban Jazz is PERFECT! Love this place!
Just a suggestion
, wrap the pickles in a sheet of parchment paper or i...n a ziploc for to go orders! Walking back the chip got a little bit pickley.

Enjoyed the bar-b-que,
cole slaw, and excellent coffee plus a bonus of a visit with owner Joey Simonton.

This place is amazing! They have made a lot of progress since their rough opening nearly a month ago. They display a unique enthusiasm
about their business and all of the employees are role models for... excellent customer service and hospitalit y. Their food can be a little pricey, but only because it is of great quality, especially the juicy and amazing Bison Burger ($10 including side). The wait times can get a little lengthy (usually anywhere from over 5-20 minutes) at lunchtime, but only because they make their food fresh and made-to-or der. If you haven't tried these guys out yet, do so immediatel y!
Had the best chocolate muffin and Chocolate Mocha Latte ever!!

We were there for the soft opening and had an opportunit
y to taste just about everything on the Satrters, Sanwich and Asian menu. Wow! The Filipino dishes were amazing- I highly recommend the Pancit C...anton. The jazzed up Cuban sandwich and spicy tuna salad were familiar, but with a twist. My husband's fav was the bison burger. Each dish we tried had such unique flavors-ev en the salsa was in a class of its own. The next morning I work up craving the Tanzanian coffee. Can't wait to go back for breakfast.
Amazing food looks to good to eat. Taste good as it looks 110% best place ever eatin 👍🏼

First time was on an Art Walk Thursday. They had a wonderful live band creating a festive atmosphere
. Good sandwiches too.
Place was immaculate
, simple and clean. Always nice to see my buddy Joey, sure hoped the food met my expectatio ns. IT. DID!! My wife had the Classic Belgian Waffle with Fruit. Topped with fresh str...awberries, bananas and maple syrup, she really enjoyed it. I started with the Chocolate Chip Strawberry Dream Belgian Waffle. Drizzled with Chocolate syrup, strawberri es, chocolate chips and whipped cream..... truly decadent! Waffles were on point, thick and fluffy. Enough food to fill one up....sooo o onto my next plate!! My main dish was the Genesis Breakfast Wrap. Egg, sausage, bacon, ham, cheddar cheese, green peppers, spinach and onions on a wheat tortilla.. ...wrapped with love and grilled to a golden brown. It was accompanie d with a side of lightly-se asoned potatoes. Hear me now and know I don't mess around with food or falsely build up a place without merit..... Joey is really onto something here. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! !!! My belly was full, wallet barely hurt and heart warm knowing effort can and should bring great results. Bravo my friend!
Excellent new addition to downtown Charleston
! I have eaten here twice with each of my two brothers. First time I had the bison burger, which was excellent. Fresh and hand patted, good garlic flavor. ...Second time I had the chicken adobo and it was top shelf as well. All the staff is very friendly and efficient!
