If I manage expectations,
Would you talk to me again?
I miss you so damned much some days,
My enigmatic friend,
And if i found a better me,...
Tell me then would you agree?
If I stand there like a mannequin,
And let you take the wheel,
Or lean behind you silently,
And just enjoy that feel,
The feel of when we got along,
Like an arrow straight and strong,
Unladen by the lifeless weight
of things we said that day,
That seemed to turn your eyes to steel,
And make you run away
Or what if I changed my name,
Or make you forget what my name was
And what if I could force myself,
To not expect too much,
Maybe I could walk again without your
Mercy as my crutch
Thank you, thank you,
You had more mercy than than anyone,
I’ve ever known
The plan to live together
Did I ruin that as well?
The one thing I held onto,
In this strange suburban hell,
And when the children had all grown,
Two Buffalonians on our own
My website is down. There’s nothing wrong with the hosting or the code or anything. The time to renew came up and I, jobless, can not afford to re-up at this time. So I’m going to have to wait until circumstances change to give you some of that delicious voodoo.
In the meantime, why don’t you two go find something better to do?
This song was written because I felt like the only time we see each other as human, all of us, is when some external threat intrudes upon our comfortable prejudices.
It’s one of my favorites. The first verse is about The American South. The second is about ISIS. I used a string trio and my own piano stylings, which I am pretty happy with.
So someone really enjoyed my Dirty Red Pagan songs. So much so that they listened literally hundreds of times. That made not even close to a dollar. But if I knew who it was who listened, at least I could thank them by sending them one.
I dunno, guys.
You heard the man.
Don't forget you can get all my music on iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify, Pandora, all the big ones. And if you'd like a hard-copy of my latest, "The Mayor of Estes Pa...rk", get with my label, Wampus Multimedia (Wampus.com). I need your support. I need you to help me keep this thing going while I concoct more sonic goodies for you. Thanks!

As I recovered from my first set outside at Radius Pizza, a little girl and her sister each handed me a dollar bill. The youngest said "I like your music!"
That's really what it's all about.
Lots of stuff happening this coming few weeks. I hope you partake.
We are shooting a video this coming Tuesday at 10 AM in Hillsborough. We're meeting up in front of the WHUP studio on King Street. If you'd like to make a cameo, please stop by! Or just carve one out of soap. Seriously, though, it's a kind of open-ended concept but we would love to see you there.
Then we're doing the rescheduled interview with Dave Crespo of WEMF (wemfradio.com) 5:30 pm on the same day, Tuesd...ay May 30th. Member? We coudn't get stuff working, but we will do that thing right this time!
Then, on Thursday June 1, I'll be Skyping with Destany Ramirez of Houston Rock TV. That's 9:30 pm CST.
My next gig is June 15th at Radius on Churton Street, Hillsborough, 7-9. Please watch me play my favorite soul classics.
So what do you say? Want to help me out? And don't forget my radio show every Saturday at 6 PM, "D-Sides, Orphans, and Oddities", online at WHUPFM.org.
