I find it completely amazing that both eBay and Amazon have worked for 15 years to build out site infrastructure and delivery methods and channels at costs of over a billion each, and then make every seller opt-in to a free returns program with auto-acceptance and even auto-refund at 100% seller cost. As normal, this is Amazon leading this charge with eBay just blindingly following suit. Neither company realizes that sellers are NOT billion dollar companies who can nominally absorb the extensive costs of a return program. Until sellers are also billion dollar companies, this forced return process is really, REALLY going to hurt and disrupt sellers.
It's been a few days since Amazon has screwed sellers in some way. I guess I can rel.....
"Amazon announces that all sellers now must auto-accept customer returns at their own expense, regardless of the reason why. Or you can opt to simply auto-refund customers"
"Amazon sellers can no longer request feedback removal from Amazon customer service, regardless of the reason"
Amazon sellers are all on the beach at Dunkirk, but there are no boats coming to get them.
Hi gang! I'm busy writing an update to my blog post about Amazon destroying book sellers. So what happened to us in March when the fee increase hit? Honestly, you're just not going to believe it.
Hi gang, So we need to have a talk about Amazon. Look - as a buyer of items online, Amazon is unbelievable. Basically, they have the widest selection for the lowest price at the fastest delivery speed. It will not be long before most of the country can receive their purchases within a few hours wherever they are standing at that time via an Uber/Lyft driver or a drone or by simply beaming the product over with Amazon Teleport. Wowza. Alibaba prices at $68, Amazon buys Twitch, and eBay...rolls out new seller metrics which probably knocks 65% of Top Rated Sellers out of the program, effectively raising their fees by 20%. It's an Alibaba/Amazon world and eBay's wearing milkbone underwear.
