I think the Lake District is one of the most truly spectacular places to visit in the world.
I was hoping to go somewhere exotic on my honeymoon soon but because of money having to rethink.
Hoping to ...manage to visit the Lake District again instead; My dream is to buy a house on one of the lakes shores one day.
Fantastic; everyone should be lucky enough to visit at least once in their life

Absolutely fell in love with the Lake District this Easter! My husband and I celebrated our mini-moon in Rostwaite and couldn’t believe how incredible one place could be. The views are spectacular and... the people extremely friendly.
We already have plans to go back next year as a year anniversary. We’re so excited to see more of what the Lake District has to offer.

I fell in love with The Lake District as a small child (inherited feelings from my parents who honeymooned at the Fish Hotel, Buttermere). Many childhood memories of days skimming stones, lakeside and... woodland walks. Am very lucky that my brother now lives near Carlisle and we get to visit regularly.
Yesterday was our first visit to Grasmere and yet again the seceney, sunshine, pub lunch and village location were just perfect. Grasmere is just so pretty and the walk around the lake is a lovely, low level walk for all!!
Already planning to revisit next year for my 50th birthday!!

Both myself and my disabled wife love the Lake District, it's so peaceful and relaxing, although because she is mobility scooter bound we have found plenty of walks geared around people with disabilit...ies, we have found plenty of excellent eating establishments and everyone we have met have been more than friendly, can't wait to return. The wildlife around the cottage at Crook was amazing, green woodpecker, tawny owl, deer.... The scenery was outstanding. Had great food in Squirrels pantry at Cockermouth & Sun inn at Crook. Loved Dod...d woods, where saw squirrels morning and evenings. Shed a tear when had to leave such a beautiful place! See More
