Shame that they didn't include the real winner Rutter's in this analysis. 🤔
It's truly inspiring to see so many young people across Pennsylvania and our nation making their voices heard during the #NationalSchoolWalkout. The time for change is now. We must stop tiptoeing around gun safety and address it with action.
Cassidy is bright, brave and strong. Bullying is too common for too many of our kids. All kids should feel safe and nurtured when they go to school. If you, your child, or someone you know is being bullied, please call PA's bullying prevention consultation line: 1-866-716-0424
This week, I signed #TiernesLaw, a statute that will prevent domestic abusers from becoming murderers by giving judges tools to protect victims who are still at risk. But we have more work to do to keep victims safe. Several protections have been passed by the Senate and need only be acted on by the Republican-controlled House for us to strengthen our laws so victims can feel confident that they will be protected from their abusers.
We must give law enforcement the tools that they need to hold people accountable for hazing, and we must ensure schools have proper safeguards to protect students and curb these practices. I thank the Senate for passing this important legislation and urge the House not to delay sending it to my desk so we can prevent future tragedy.
Reading with children is important to their learning, and Frances and I loved reading with our daughters when they were growing up. That’s why we were excited to be involved with this year's One Book, Every Young Child initiative to highlight the importance of early literacy development. In the video we join other members of our administration to read from this year’s featured book, My Cousin Momo written and illustrated by Zachariah OHora.
It's been two years since I signed Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Act. As we continue celebrating this milestone, #MMJ is improving quality of life for thousands of Pennsylvania families. For Cora and TJ, medical marijuana has been a vital tool in their treatment for autism spectrum disorders, which has opened the door of possibility for their futures. With more than 31,000 patients registered, our expanded program will break down financial barriers and increase access to this vital medication across Pennsylvania. Visit medicalmarijuana.pa.gov to:

We need a non-partisan, independent redistricting commission. Pennsylvanians are tired of the status quo of partisan politicians choosing their voters. I stand with Fair Districts PA because it's time to make state government more accountable to the people it represents.
I have ordered the Commonwealth flag on the Capitol Complex, at all Commonwealth facilities, and all public buildings and grounds throughout the state to fly at half-staff to honor former First Lady Barbara Bush, who passed away yesterday.
Frances and I send our deepest condolences to the Bush family during this difficult time. Barbara Bush was a remarkable woman whose legacy of compassion will be remembered by all who knew her.
The Commonwealth flag shall be lowered from Wed...nesday, April 18, 2018, through interment. The United States Flag should also be lowered to half-staff until Barbara Bush’s interment.
I invite all Pennsylvanians to participate in this tribute.
Barbara Bush was an amazing American. She will be remembered and missed by our nation. Frances and I send our condolences to the Bush family.
Breaking News: Barbara Bush, wife of the 41st president, mother of the 43rd, has died at 92.
When Meek Mill was resentenced to prison for parole violations, his case brought hundreds of thousands to call for change in Pennsylvania. The attention on his case shows the broader concern and emotion over our criminal justice system as a whole. We need to make our system more fair, more equitable, and more focused on rehabilitation. Two years ago, I signed legislation making medical marijuana legal in Pennsylvania. We've come a long way since then. Our #MMJ program is already serving more than 10,000 Pennsylvanians in its first two months of operation with 20,000 more registered. Our expanded program will help us reach more patients across Pennsylvania through additional dispensary locations and breaking down financial barriers to this vital care. I have ordered the Commonwealth flag to fly at half-staff at all Commonwealth facilities in the City of Greensburg to honor J. Edward Hutchinson, former chief of the Greensburg Fire Department, who passed away Sunday. Our thoughts are with his family and the Greensburg community.
The Commonwealth flag shall be lowered immediately, Tuesday, April 17, 2018, until J. Edward Hutchinson’s interment. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute. The United States flag shall remain at full staff during this tribute.
I have been briefed on the emergency landing of Southwest flight 1380 in Philadelphia. The Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency is monitoring the situation along with our local and national emergency response partners.
In domestic violence cases, #TiernesLaw gives judges more tools to protect victims from their convicted abusers. While the tragedy of Tierne’s death can never be undone, her memory will live on through her namesake law that will keep abusers from becoming murders.
