We have an extra reserved and paid RV spot in Casper, Wyoming that we no longer need. This is at the Casper Events Center and the spot is good from Thursday before eclipse day to Tuesday after. We paid $300 and are asking for the same amount (no gouging!). Interested? Email us at greatamericaneclipse (at) gmail (dot) com

We list ten great places to view the total solar eclipse of August 21st. But truth be told, your best place is anywhere you are within the path of totality under clear skies! https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/best-places-to-view/
Some of you, particularly those who live within or near the path of total eclipse, might notice merchandise with our logo appearing in outlets like Walmart, Krogers, and others. These are legitimate items and we have licensed our logo and trademark (on the phrase 'Great American Eclipse') to a distributor. While we didn't have control over the products produced with our logo, we reviewed the wholesale catalog and can report that no items contain false or unsafe information about the eclipse.
Note to entrepreneurs: We have registered trademarks on the logo and 'Great American Eclipse' for apparel, eclipse glasses, and souvenirs. See http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield… and http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield… and http://tmsearch.uspto.gov/bin/showfield…
Hat tip to Mike Maurer for the photo.
The two biggest challenges for eclipse chasers this August 21st are weather and traffic. We give advice on dealing with traffic at https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/statistics/ and our friend Jay Anderson, retire meteorologist and eclipse chaser, gives the low-down on reading the weather forecast:

If you read the New York Times, be sure to check out this Sunday's print edition. The magazine insert of the Sunday paper will be dedicated to all things eclipse. Our maps will be featured as well as content from some of our friends.
I'm working with a reporter from a well-known news outlet. This reporter would like to interview anyone who has paid an excessive price for hotel accommodations within the path of totality. If interested, email me at greatamericaneclipse (at) gmail (dot) com. Thank you
The most detailed imagery of the Sun's corona is being produced by Miloslav Druckmüller and his colleagues. They process a stack of photographs with varying exposures from advanced eclipse photographers and apply a proprietary algorithm developed by Miloslav. The results are breathtaking. That said, seeing the eclipse live is better than even these photographs! See more by Miloslav and colleagues at http://www.zam.fme.vutbr.cz/~druck/eclipse/
In three days - two weeks before our total solar eclipse - a partial lunar eclipse will be seen from eastern Europe, Africa, and Asia. Lunar eclipses and solar eclipses are generally paired within an eclipse season. The essential website eclipsewise.com explains this in detail.

Great American Eclipse.com heeft het bericht van David Baron gedeeld.
Watch this! David Baron is an articulate speaker (and writer) on the coming solar eclipse. This is so true: "Before you die, you owe it to yourself to experience a total solar eclipse". Watch this so you will know why you should make every reasonable effort to see the most spectacular sight in nature. David is also author of the highly recommended book, American Eclipse, see http://american-eclipse.com/
Friends, I could use your help! This talk, which I gave in Denver last month, is a sincere attempt to convince my fellow Americans to go see the Aug. 21 total e...clipse. I would be grateful if you would share, repost, etc. We have just 18 days left, and there are still millions of people to reach! ![]()
Need eclipse glasses? We've got them! And we are shipping promptly. But don't delay as they will sell out before the eclipse. https://www.greatamericaneclipse.com/eclipse-viewing/
We are proud to offer genuine ISO 12312-2 certified eclipse glasses and we are listed on the American Astronomical Society's web page of reputable vendors at https://eclipse.aas.org/resources/solar-filters
Great American Eclipse.com heeft het bericht van Fred Espenak gedeeld.
Great interview with our friend Fred Espenak on how the eclipse will steal your heart!
Last week I did a long telephone interview with Anne Dujmovic at c/net. The final article is now posted and is called “How the total solar eclipse will steal your heart.” I also sherd some of my eclipse photos in the article.
Please feel free to share with others.
A WAY-TOO-EARLY weather forecast for eclipse day by the Washington Post. Take this with two lumps of salt. It will be interesting how this evolves as August 21st draws near. The Washington Post has been delivering the most comprehensive coverage of the coming eclipse of any media outlet.
