Group rules from the admins
1
Posting
Add location (can be general), date, depth, how caught, etc.. Observation & observer initials will be added to the public map associated with this group unless you state "not for map" on post.
2
Be Kind and Courteous/No Hate Speech or Bullying
Be respectful and kind. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
3
No Fake/ Altered Photos, No Spam, No Promotions.
Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam, ads and irrelevant links aren't allowed. Photos of marine life that have been photoshopped are not allowed.
4
Stick to the Guidelines/ Family friendly rated G
We are here to discuss life and other oddities found in the marine environment of Alaska and Alaska only. No politics, NO Fukishima comments, pest control comments, etc. Refrain from judging peoples lifestyles & asking what they did with the creature.
5
Refrain from posting irrelevant comments
Do not add comments that offer no useful information to the discussion. We are here to learn and unnecessary comments bog down the post and make it hard to gain information. An example is comparing marine life to non-existent creatures.
6
Zero Tolerance
These guidelines are simple. Breaking them can be grounds for immediate removal. Lets just enjoy what the group was created for.
7
Not a "rule" but a suggestion
Read through all the comments before offering an ID. Sometimes it's better to "like" an existing comment that reflects your ID in order to keep the thread easier to follow unless you have more info. to offer about the observation.
8
Giving Credit
If an observation or a photo used in an observation is not yours please indicate/give credit to who made the observation/took the photo. This is helpful since, with permission, I am hoping to add observations from this group to the public google map associated with it.
9
Sharing and Downloads
Common courtesy: Credit must be given to the photographer/creator of all photos and maps posted in this group. Finding the photos/maps used outside the group without proper credit given will not be tolerated.
10
GIF's, memes, etc
Please refrain from posting GIF's or anything similar.
