PINNED POST
Andrew Ghobrial shared a link.

Hey HtSaS peeps. To cut down on the number of spam posts we have to sift through in order to find your quality ones to approve, we're going to making use of TypeForm instead.

All you need to do is head over to the link at the bottom and fill in your name, the category of your post (product feedback, cofounder request, etc), and the contents of the post itself.

From now on, posts sent to this typeform are the ONLY ones we'll be looking at, because we've gotten overwhelmed with... the number of spam bots auto-submitting things here, and we felt this was a more efficient way of handling the problem.

Since I'll be pinning this post, below the typeform link will be a reminder of what our rules are for approved posts. Hope everyone has a great day!

:)

Form: https://htsas.typeform.com/to/Er5AYf

Rules:
"The following kinds of posts however, are NOT allowed and will be rejected:
1. Blatant spam, self explanatory.
2. Attempts to sell services to startup founders (law, consulting, software dev shops, apparel, etc.)
3. Anything offensive or inappropriate.
4. Posts that are only relevant to specific locations. There are plenty of local How To Start A Startup groups on FB, you'll get better results posting them there any way.
----------
The following kinds of posts will be approved/rejected on a case by case basis, depending on how helpful/relevant we think they are to the community:
1. Asking for feedback on your product. If you want feedback, be very specific about what it is you want feedback on, posts that are essentially "here's my product what do you think" will probably not be approved.
2. Useful startup tools. If the tool you're sharing is your own, be honest about it. If it doesn't have a free option, probably won't be approved.
3. Blogposts. If it's a genuinely helpful post that gives great insight or advice, that's great. If it reads like a very obvious advertisement for your startup with some helpful tidbits here and there, probably won't be approved.
4. Cofounder requests. If you're looking for a cofounder, be very specific about what your skills are and what you're bringing to the table, then describe what kind of founder you're looking for. If we start to see that people don't respond well to these kinds of posts and decide they aren't resonating well, we'll stop approving them.
Oh and don't say cringe-y things like "I'm an epic idea guy looking for a rockstar/ninja/jedi coder"."

Hi people, Are you interested in FOOD and TECH? Machine Learning and Analytics? With Foodbytes (http://foodbytes.de/) we want to help restaurants and canteens to get a better understanding of their business and reduce food waste! We have been working on this idea for some time now.

Challenging tasks in development and prediction!

Where is Foodbytes now? • Field research done. • I have two big canteens on board, who will support us and provide us their data to build the model and prototype. • Official member of “Wir retten Lebensmittel”, an initiative and network of the Bavarian Ministry for Nutrition, Agriculture & Forestry

(http://www.stmelf.bayern.de/wir-rettenlebensmittel) Who is needed? Co-founders in Tech. Development and/or Data Analytics background.

Hello everyone.
I have a quick question that I hope I can get some answers:

First, let me give you an example:

...

Websites like rightmove.co.uk are charging estate agencies to allow them to post on the website.
How would someone convince a business owner to pay them to have their product/service on their website, when the business owner has a website of its own that supports the selling/booking?

The problems is that without property posts no one would go on rightmove, but at the beginning they would have to have those posts without asking for money from the estate agents as the traffic was low.

Would it be the correct move to go around the web, collect those services, post them on the website and when traffic comes to them, take that information and show it to the business owner and ask to be paid for extras?

Another example:

If I were to build a website that shows all the business consultants. Users would be able to search by location, tag , etc. The website also has booking capabilities.
The Consultants also have their own websites.
How would I pitch to them? As I do not have traffic and rankings at the current point.

Thank you for your help,
Emeric.

Hey startup-ers. My company, Haus, just released a soft beta of our product. It's working to simplify the home selling process by making it possible to sell your home without paying high commission fees.

If you are thinking of selling your home in the next few months, I'd love to tell you more about it and hear your feedback. We have some spots open as well for free usage of our platform - you'd pay nothing to sell your home with us, whic...h could save you 3-6% of the sale price.

Here is a link to sign up if you're interested in providing feedback or in being in our beta: https://haus.com/beta-sellers Thanks!

Fundraising is hard. If you haven’t started yet, take a breath. It might be your last for a while. This shit is all consuming. Some people are natural sales people. It’s like they were born knowing how to influence people through language. I am not one of those people. I grew up coding websites, pla...
