Fans For Accessible Conventions is open to anyone and everyone w...ho is interested in improving accessibility for persons with disabilities and working to remove barriers for all fans at conventions.
Barriers may refer to accessibility, triggers, allergens, gender and sexuality concerns, ageism, racism, ableism, and anything else you can think of that could make a person uncomfortable at a convention.
***Fans For Accessible Conventions Guidelines***
1. Treat everyone - and every convention - with respect. Simply disagreeing with another member or admin is just fine, but name calling, over-aggressiveness and vulgarity are inappropriate and will result in a warning and your post being removed. Additionally, this is not an appropriate forum to question, criticize or otherwise comment negatively regarding any individual's ability or disability besides your own. Repeat behavior of this kind may result in your being removed from Fans For Accessible Conventions.
2. Stay on topic. Posts should be directly related to issues surrounding accessibility at conventions.
3. When criticizing a convention's accessibility, please try to keep it constructive. Do your best to provide suggestions for how the convention's accessibility could be improved or their barriers might be lessened.
3. Please DO post cool solutions to barriers and accommodations you especially appreciate at conventions you've attended!
