Hope this will give you a taste of things to come. I followed my son around with a drone last summer.

With some of the recent posts that have been made we’ve decided we need to have admin approval for all posts.

This group was created to be a resource for riders.

Want to try to link up to ride, clear trail, or work on the facility here or anywhere off-road related. Post here.

...

Have you Lost/found items at the park? Post it here.

Do you have something that you really liked using for your ride and you think others would like it too? Post it here.

You have an Event announcement for something off-road. Post it here.

You have a BOLO post for stolen machines? Post it here.

Do you have an idea for a fill in ride place while River Valley is shut down? Post it here.

We’ll approve all of those posts and most others throughout the day.

What won’t be approved.

Invitations to break laws or damage government property.

General sniveling about the state of Iowa DNR decisions.

Sale ads. (Though Free “pay it forward” stuff will probably be approved, especially kids gear)

Football and baseball scores.

Once the Park is reopened by the state we will look at removing the admin approval for postings.

Until then Cross your fingers and hope, pray, change our profile pic, make a sacrifice. . . what ever floats our boats to make the sand track come back to us as quickly as possible.

River Valley OHV Park - Pottawattamie CountyPark

Status: PARK CLOSED

Reason:Trail HazardsDetails: The park remains closed for an undetermined amount of time. Although the park has greened up, there are hazard trees still standing, hazards on the ground, stumps that are not visible, and a lot of other issues we need to address. We want you to enjoy the area as much as you want to get in and ride, but we cannot permit access to an area that is not safe. We will be issuing a co...ntract for the clean-up work. Once we get further into the design and contracting process, we will be able to give you information which will be more reliable and useful regarding reopening.Posted: 6/13/2018 2:23:38 PM...

I wish they would hurry up with the process of cleaning the trails..

I just got off the phone checking on the status of River Valley OHV in Council Bluffs. As it stands it appears that they have found some funding for hazzard tr...ee removal in the park. Right now the state is in the process of securing contracts to start work on removal of those trees. Some of the work will be done by state employees and some will be done by outside contractors but there will be no volunteers used or allowed until after those Hazard trees have been removed It's hard to put a time frame on this but there is forward motion.

I know some don't see the purpose in removing these trees but please keep in mind that if the park were opened as is and a tree were to fall and injure a rider, the closure would most likely be permanent as opposed to being months in duration. With this in mind please have patience the Rangers and everybody involved are working diligently

Please try to remember that one of the nice things about having this park ran by the state is the fact that it is a well-maintained, clean, and regulated as well as secure park. Many of the obstacles that we are currently trying to overcome with opening headworks are taken care of in this park because of the state Management. One of the very few downfalls of having a park run by the state is in the event of major issues such as the fire it takes a little more time to get the wheels of state government rolling.

I will make sure to keep you updated as more information comes to light but as of now that is what's happening.

Just checking to see if there is any update on the council bluffs park. My brothers family was planning on comming out here with 4 atvs over july holiday for vacation. If the park is not open we will probably decide to visit him with our atvs and ride in colorado instead. Been a long time since we have seen any updates.

Anybody been to Columbus? Anywhere to ride sport quads? Or mainly just for 4x4s?
