Unofficial flag of Argentina (used by the Unitarians). Without the sun it was the merchant flag of the Unitarians until 1852. It's believed that it inspired the flag of Guatemala.

Today is the national day of Estonia so I am going to treat you to a truly obscure flag Estonian flag, the flag of the Estonian Swedes.
The Estonian Swedes settled along the coast and islands of Estonia in early medieval times.
The were surprisingly relatively unaffected by the area becoming a part of the Swedish empire from the mid 16th century and equally so by the lands being conquered ny Russia in the early seventeen hundreds.
Alas a large group were forcibly exiled to Uk...raine in the latter half of that century a relocation that killed a third of those relocated.
Apart from that sad event they basically lived their lives until the Russian revolution when in the late twenties the wast majority of those living in Ukraine were evacuated to Sweden, later to be followed by Stalinist purges and the ravages of WWII until but a handful remains in their traditional village today.
The Estonian Swedes of Estonia fared well until they too were ravaged by WWII the wast majority fleeing in waves in 1940 and 1944.
They are today a recognised national minority in Estonia but their culture is basically on life-support and only just clinging on because of the activist exiles in Sweden and a very benevolent attitude from the Estonians.
