Oh no!!!

I met Geoff once outside the Birmingham NEC straight after the first night of the original Black Sabbath reunion in 1997.

I'd just turned 17.

He was surprised I knew exactly who he was and my knowledge of the bands lengthy history for such a young guy. We chatted for about 20 minutes in the December cold and I distinctly remember thinking what a lovely bloke to take the time to talk to a young star struck fool like myself.

He seemed as interested in my musical journey as a musician as much as I was his.

I'm genuinely really sad to hear this news.

RIP.

God bless his soul. Had the pleasure of meeting him and Bill Ward in the lobby bar @ Four Seasons Toronto in July, 2001 on the Ozzfest tour. A lot of wind on the eve of the gig. A very nice guy. R.I.P.

So sorry to hear about Geoff. A good swimming friend of mine. Not sure if you know, but Geoff was one of Britain's greatest swimmers when he was younger. Very sad to hear this news.

How Many great moments I've experienced through his Works, mainly with him in Black Sabbath... It is sad to know that someone Who has given you so much, has passed away. No matter if I knew him, he made me laugh, made me Happy. This makes him a true Friend... Geoff is still in our hands, and Will rejoyce us for years with the albums we have where he played his keyboards...

Very sad to hear. Loved his work with Sabbath. I also cited the first Quartz album as one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. If anyone hasn't heard it yet, it's now on a lot of music sites as a download. My condolences to his family. I will truly miss him.

Spirit lives on! Thanks for all these years, Geoff and Sabbath. Mr. Geezer, even when our friends make this trip, we must prevent this world to go boring. Keep the music. Keep the faith. It's your fate.

The solo you recorded in the end of Die Young was Geoff's compositions?

Sure.. I remember Geezer, who we called , hay Geez or where is the Geezer? Hay geez...Me and my late wife were just regular fans that lived around Omaha, Ne. and went out to listen to good old rock and roll all of the time, and loved all of them. Thank you, and still loving you...
