I am absolutely amazed by Vicki's talent. I asked her to make me a cake shaped like Mt Fuji for my husbands 30th birthday and was blown away by her work, my mum even cried when she saw it! Not only di...d she make the main cake, she made Labrador cake pops which went down really well with all of our guests! Vicki was lovely to work with and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a special cake. The cake looked and tasted amazing. Thank you so much! See More

I took part in a cake dec course here and loved it. Vicki is professional yet approachable, and her kitchen is well-equipped and comfortable. The course was so much fun, challenging yet easy to unders...tand with lots of 'face time' to guide you through it. I was astounded by the final pieces we all produced and it was a good insight into the care and time needed to make beautiful cakes. I gave my partner the cake and he was amazed when I unveiled it. 10/10. See More

I spent an amazing three days with Vicki, making a 4 tiered wedding cake from scratch. I had never attempted anything on that scale before and learned so many new things from how to cover with fondant... to decorating! Vicki was a fabulous teacher. She helped me every step of the way and I was delighted with the end product. All my friends and family have enjoyed devouring the cake! I would highly recommend her classes! See More

I'm a keen baker and I'm very picky when it comes to who makes my cake, but I've been having Vikki make cakes for me and my family for 3/4 years. We've had 3 cakes for my sons birthday, one beautiful ...2 their cake for my 30th, and cakes for wedding anniversary's! Every single one has been meticulously made and designed, and the taste has been lovely! I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else :) See More

We ordered a cake for my Dad's 70th birthday and it was fantastic! The attention to detail was brilliant and it was personalised especially for the occasion, with a figurine in the image of my dad. No...t only did the cake look amazing, but it tasted delicious. It made the birthday extra special and it became part of the memory of a wonderful celebration weekend. See More

I have asked Vicki to make me cakes twice now - a 1920s cake for my birthday and then some cupcakes for a family celebration. Both times the cakes were superb, in both appearance and flavour. We had s...o many appreciative comments. Thanks again, Vicki ! See More

Amazing consultation today. So looking forward to working with Vicki! X

Best of luck to all my cakey friends entering Cake International this weekend.

Sadly I wont be there, it's going to be so strange, but I look forward to seeing everyone's entries.

I'll be at the NEC on Saturday helping Esme Fletcher Photography out but she could do with an assistant for Sunday.

Any time you can give would be greatly appreciated. No experience required, you just need to be able to smile, say hello and hand out flyers.

Please get in touch with Esme is you can help her out.

If you're coming to the show on Saturday, pop by and say hello.

This hasn't been an easy decision and to be honest although it's been on the cards for nearly 12 months now, I've held off in the hopes that I would find a way to carry on.

But now it's official. Until further notice HCC is closed.

I'm not taking on any more orders. It may be that I'll re-open at a later date, I'm not ruling out a return, but right now, closing is the right decision.

The reality of running a cake business is it's not all glitz and glamour. At times it can be the dream job and very enjoyable but the reality is a lot of late nights, a lot of stress, cake scraps for almost every meal, dehydration, exhaustion, humidity making things difficult, some near disasters, lots of anxiety and panic and praying every moment that nothing goes wrong before you get it safely delivered or handed over.

It was having an impact on my health and looking at my income, after materials and other outgoings, I was hardly making any money. I figured I would have to work at least 5 times harder to bring in a good living and I'd probably die doing it. And once that realisation hit, I fell out of love with doing it. Health has to be priority #1 right?

This business was built on a love for my craft, wanting to make people happy and I put my all into each cake. I honestly believe if you don't enjoy making the cakes, they won't turn out well (just my belief) and making cakes no longer fills me with love and joy.

I know a lot of people are disappointed. So many people have told me it's such a shame I'm closing but it's a decision I have got to make.
What would be more of a disappointment and a shame would be for me to carry on making cakes and not loving it and for that to come across in my work.

I have so many other amazing local caker friends who I highly recommend. If you wanted to book me but can't, I would be very happy to refer you to someone else.

And YES I will still be going to Cake International because whilst I may have fallen out of love with making cakes, I still absolutely LOVE all my cake peeps.

I have many new adventures ahead of me, don't be sad. I'm moving onto some bigger and better things with my other venture.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported me over the last 3 years

HCC out.

A beautiful white chocolate with berries and wild flowers to start the year.

Semi-naked cakes are always an impressive centre piece and can be decorated with fruit, flowers or anything else you fancy. They are a (delicious) blank canvas.

A gorgeous dark chocolate and fruit semi-naked cake. Perfect for autumn/winter weddings.

This one was set up at Coombe Abbey Hotel.

These ones are always my favourite. I love dark chocolate and the contrast of the bright berries. This got a lot of attention as I was setting it up and the guests kept commenting that all they could smell was chocolate. I take it as a compliment.
