💦 FRIDAY FACEBOOK FLOODING!
💕Cuteness overload alert!
Rodeo is one of the only sports where Mum, Dad and the kids can all compete together and the Nichol family... of Otago are no exception!
This photo is of Gracie Nichol riding her barrel pony Bandit at Methven last season. The crowd adore watching this and it’s great seeing young competitors enjoying themselves in the arena.
Please SHARE and show your support of New Zealand rodeo!

Hi. I am really pleased with these images. Apart from some colour tweaking and a small amount of cropping here and there, these are pretty much as they came off my camera.
Certainly taking photos at the Jackpots has improved my rodeo photography across the board. A huge thank you to Kate, Emily, Andrea, Gemma (for her advice) and Hayley Staples for telling me about the Jackpots in the first place, and all the riders involved, you're all great.
You are welcome to like and sh...are these images, but please refrain from using them for any other purposes without my permission. I didn't get to the rodeo until about 10.30am so I did miss some of the earlier events, sorry about that.
Hi everyone. Just to let you know I am working through my Methven Rodeo images at the moment, I have narrowed them down to 600.
All going well I will have them up this weekend.
PS - sorry I didn’t make it to Winchester - I really wanted to be there but it just didn’t work out. Hopefully next year.
PPS - I will get the shop sorted through my Facebook page, I have just switched jobs and so time is a bit of an issue at the moment....
Take care Hx
Finally the Jackpot images for you. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I did taking them.
Thanks again to everybody involved with these Jackpots. Being able to practice at these events has meant my sports photography as a whole has vastly improved.
I'm working on the rodeo images now - and to be honest I think they are some of my best images to date. Watch this space, I'll put them up as soon as I can....
So a huge thank you to you all!!! Hx
Hi all - I will put the barrel racing images up (from last Saturday) this weekend. I took more than I thought I did so its taking me a bit to go through them all. Happy with the images though as I was trying out some new camera equipment and it worked a treat..
See you all at the Rodeo today H
I love this kind of photography - it's my happy place.
Thanks to Kate and Emily and all the riders.
Also thank you to Gemma for her advice on the best angles for barrel racing shots, I think your advice paid off.
Finally here they are. Thanks to the Methven Rodeo Committee and everyone involved with the rodeo - if it wasn't for all your hard work, commitment and participation I would have had nothing to take images of.
I know there is a lot to go through, however the reality is I still have some more to add - but thought you would be sick of waiting by now.
Thank you - Thank you to Sue vdH and the very organised Methven Lions Club, thank you to the amazing riders, thank you to all the sponsors and thank you to everybody who turned up to watch. Without all of you I wouldn't have anything to photograph. Gosh I love sports photography!!!!
