life is good!
Both Joyce and I have always been interested and involved in immigrant issues. I guess partly because we are both first generation and lived through many of the problems facing immigrants today. So I started a series of paintings and this is one of my latest. it is called
"LOOKING IN"
It is watercolor and collage on siri cloth.
I am delighted to be teaching a workshop this summer at The South Street Gallery here in Greenport.. It is a one day immersion into one of my favorite and said to be one of the most difficult mediums...watercolor. The Workshop is designed to reach and teach all levels. So, please join me on August 6. Space is limited.. By the way, you know, everybody loves to play with water!

The richness of South Beach lies in its music. It's everywhere! and I painted the moment.
Enjoy
So in the middle of this busy season, I managed to finish a painting entitled
"Masquerade" It is acrylic 34x42 I guess most of us realize that we are not always what we seem to be. We strike a posture and continue to seek our identity. That is what this painting is all about. As a painter, it is wonderful to embark upon the journey of a painting and have the process lead you and then find that the canvas is speaking back to you. Have the best New Year of your lives
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. i certainly did! My son Daniel and his finance Maggie came in from Seattle and stayed with us for a few days. What a great visit.
Today is not only my grandson Conor's 15th Birthday, but it is Veterans day. i was in the Korean War as a Corpsman and my specialty was in atomic medicine and of course, this led me to my career as an artist :). I came upon this photo. I think I'm much better looking today right?
HOPS FOR HUMANITY!
I am in a group exhibit opening this Friday November 6th at the Greenport Harbor Brewery at 234 Carpenter Street.
The opening is from 6 pm to 9 pm. I expect a good time for a great cause. Stop by and say hello and enjoy!
Can't get the group of high school students that I had this week for a four hour workshop out of my mind.. They were absolutely amazing and wouldn't it be wonderful if I could see the end results of what they do with what they have learned!
Hector deCordova shared their photo.
I love this technique (watercolor on siri cloth) because while you are painting it tends to go wild and do things that you didn't expect! In effect, it is taking you places you wouldn't ordinarily have thought to visit!
I guess I am in a fish mode! Halloween is coming and I named this one Trick or Treat! It's mixed media
Getting ready to greet 35 people on Monday from the Nassau Museum. I will be giving a talk and then a watercolor demo. I always enjoy interacting with people and seeing their reaction to my work. it's fun and informative for me. Just hope the weather cooperates!
