I have extensive Bluetooth headset experience having worn headsets approximately 18 hours/day over 10+ years.

My primary need is for a device which functions flawlessly with my cellphone, fits comfortably and securely for an entire work day. Fitness tracking and music quality are nice, but not my priority. I have purchased and returned close to two dozen Bluetooth headsets over the years.

MY BRAGI EXPERIENCE:

UNBOXING - The packaging was elegant and the device appeared to be fully charged. I charged them anyway per instructions. While charging, I installed the app on my phone and downloaded the updating software from the Bragi website. Using the provided USB cable, I connected the charging case to the PC, the update the firmware in about 10 minutes.

Inside the app are numerus video tutorials. They were complete and easy to follow. I didn’t need them as setup was very self-explanatory

BLUETOOTH - I put in the right ear bud and a voice told me to touch and hold the right earbud. My Samsung Note 5 immediately recognized the Dash Pros and paired them to the phone. In the subsequent 48 hours, I had zero issues with the connection to the phone. Holding the phone in my hand, having it on a belt holster, leaving it my desk while I pace around my office, they never lost contact. When removing them from the charging cradle they immediately reestablished connection with my phone – no user intervention required. The Bluetooth experience could not have been better.

FIT AND COMFORT - They were custom fit my ear and ear canal. They fit perfectly. I could hear air evacuate and almost a vacuum created when inserting them. They very effectively cancel out ambient noise just by having them in place. I have been wearing them non-stop for the last 48 hours except when charging or sleeping. I have experienced no discomfort at all.

CALL QUALITY/PHONE COMPATABILITY – My Bragi’s connected to my Samsung Note 5 simply and easily. I have tested call quality with multiple calls. Those receiving the calls noted no difference in the audio quality compared to my former headset or no headset at all. All reported excellent audio quality when I was using the Bragi’s.

ORDERING AND CUSTOM FITTING – This experience stood out. I went to the Bragi website and filled out a short form asking for more info. I received a phone from a Bragi specialist within 15 minutes. She offered me multiple Audiologists near my home and got me an appointment with an Audiologist on their (Starkey’s) preferred vendor list. My Audiologist (Echo Hearing Systems & Audiology, Inc. - Columbus Ohio) was Professional, knew the product well. The fitting process was simple and painless. She basically put silly putty in my ears and in 5 minutes it hardened and was removed. They had me in and out in less than 30 minutes. From initial phone call to final fitting was 9 days.

FITNESS TRACKING – This is not my primary use for my Dash Pro’s but I did go for a quick test run and both the software and its interconnectivity to Google Fit seems to function as advertised. I did like the heart monitor function.

THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS –

- They charge very quickly. From dead to fully charged in about 30 minutes.

- Even with no battery power they still very effectively block ambient noise.

- Transparent mode can be used to amplify like a hearing aid.
I sat in the last rows in a middle school auditorium and was able to use the Bragi’s to amplify the speaker to a level where I would hear him clearly.

- The audio quality for music play exceeded my expectations. Both playing from apps on my phone or using the 4 gigs of internal storage.

- It took a full day to master the 4D menus, but I have a pretty good handle on it now.

- The “Sneek Peek” feature is just amazing and works well. You can activate a shortcut by double tapping your jaw. You choose from 3 shortcuts in the Bragi App.

- The Bragi App is simple and intuitive.

o Easily connect to your headset and see status
o Controls and Settings well defined and easy to find
o Full user’s manual
o Video tutorials covering all uses of the product
o Access to Bragi Tech Support baked in, communicate directly via the app.

- Audio Transparency can almost work too well. You need to be aware that the volume setting while you are listening to music is the same when you switch to audio transparency. I have noticed that when I was listening to music (probably too loud) that the setting was uncomfortably high when I switched to transparent mode.

- I wish there was both an audio and visual way to see exact battery percentage remaining.

- I wish there was a "step counter" activity as I do a lot of walking and with the GPS and other sensors the Bradi's already know how many steps I took today.
