Report a Facebook Marketplace scam

If you see something you think is a scam, you should stop communicating with the buyer or seller and report the suspected scam to Facebook. Learn how to recognize scams on Facebook Marketplace.

Report a seller scam

  1. From your Feed, in the left menu, click marketplaceMarketplace.
  2. In the left menu, click Buying.
  3. Click the listing of the seller you want to report as a scam.
  4. Click the name of the seller.
  5. Click , then click Report.
  6. Click Scam, then follow the on-screen instructions to submit your report.

Report a buyer scam

  1. From your Feed, in the left menu, click marketplaceMarketplace.
  2. Click Selling.
  3. Click Your Account.
  4. Click Seller dashboard.
  5. Click a listing the buyer purchased.
  6. Click the message between you and the buyer. If you can't find the message, click See More.
  7. Click , then click Report.
  8. Click Scam, then follow the on-screen instructions to submit your report.

Report a listing scam

  1. From your Feed, in the left menu, click marketplaceMarketplace.
  2. Click the listing that you want to report as a scam.
  3. Below the listing title, click .
  4. Click Report Listing, then click Scam.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your report.
