If you don't see the option to create a poll, it might be because the admins don't allow polls in the group.
You can't edit the poll intro text or poll options once anyone, including you, has started voting.
You can create a poll in a Facebook group if the admins allow polls in the group. Keep in mind:
  • You can't edit the poll intro text or poll options once anyone, including you, has started voting.
  • Poll creators and group admins can add or delete poll options anytime.
  • When you create a poll, you have the option to allow people to choose multiple answers, and/or allow anyone to add options.
  • When someone other than the poll creator adds an option, they automatically vote for it. Anyone can remove their own vote by selecting the checkbox again.

Create a poll

  1. Tap Menu in the bottom right of Facebook and tap Groups then Your groups, then select your group. If you don't see Groups, tap See more.
  2. Tap Write something...
  3. Select Poll.
  4. Enter the poll options. Toggle if you want to Allow people to choose multiple options and/or Allow members to add options, then tap Done.
  5. Write the prompt.
  6. Tap Post.

Edit a poll if no one has voted yet

  1. Tap more to the right of the poll post.
  2. Select editEdit post
  3. Make your changes.
  4. Tap Save.

Delete a poll

  1. Tap more to the right of the poll post.
  2. If you're the poll creator, select deleteDelete then Delete Post to confirm. If you're a group admin, select removeRemove post, then give optional feedback and tap Remove Post.

Note:

  • If you don't see a post option available in your group, it could be because the group admins don't allow this kind of post in your group. If you're an admin, learn how to manage this feature in your group.
  • In public groups, admins might require approval before you can post or comment for the first time. The approval process might involve answering participation questions and agreeing to the group rules. Only admins and moderators can see your answers. Once someone is approved as a participant, their future posts might still require admin approval if the admin has set up post approval.
