How do I change a post's date or backdate a post so that it appears in the past on my Page?
If you're an admin or editor, you can change the date of a post on your Page to an earlier date. You can also backdate a new post so that it appears in the past on your Page's timeline.
Change the Date of an Existing Post
To change the date of a post on your Page:
- Go to the post on your Page's timeline
- Click
in the top-right corner of the post
- Select Change Date
- Choose the year, month, date and hour where you want the post to appear on your Page's timeline
- Click Save
At this time, January 1, 1905 is the earliest date a post can have. Keep in mind that you can't change the date of a boosted post or change the date to a later date.
Backdate a New Post
To backdate a post:
- Start creating your post at the top of your Page's timeline
- Click
next to Publish and select Backdate
- Select the year, month and day in the past that you want the post to appear on your Page's timeline
- Click Backdate
Keep in mind that you can't backdate posts earlier than when the Page was created.
