Their products are only slightly more original than coach and michael kors but they have horrible service. I've shopped with them in stores and online.
When I ...have issues with products at other retailers like Kate Spade or Michael Kors the workers are always very surprised to hear that I'm not satisfied and very helpful with exchanges and returns. Henri Bendel workers on the other hand roll their eyes, act like they're inconvenienced. Very rude.
I one time went to return something in store without a receipt and I saw the same item in store for $38 and they told me they could only give me $26 of store credit. Then they told me I could get $30 if they sent the item into corporate by mail and then when I finally got my store credit it was $16. I lost $22 but I'm just glad I never need to buy anything from them again.
The only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is that they do have some cute designs. Just shitty service. See More

I had a horrible experience turned into amazing experience with HB. There were dozens of shipping issues which when finally resolved by Canada Border Services t...urned out to by the fault of the courier company, DHL. Throughout my experience I was given excellent service from all bendel representatives and for anyone complaining about their service I will assume you were rude or unreasonable to deal with, being patient and respectful goes a long way. It took all in all about 3 months to receive my parcel but they are all so beautiful and the items that were gifts were received very well. The only reason I give a 4/5 rating due to international shipping partners at eShopworld. They were large in part at fault for the time spent in transit, slow to communicate between HB and the couriers at DHL, and I will not be ordering anything that comes through their services. I think a company with the reputation of Henri bendel should ship with a better service partner with a more sophisticated system (ie borderfree, they are absolutely wonderful). See More

I ordered the Dalton tote with my girlfriend's initials monogrammed on it. I was so excited to open the gift with her which was a Christmas gift yet I was let d...own very fast when I noticed that the letters were monogrammed crooked, to the point that they looked like they were monogrammed sideways. I am very disappointed that such a reputable company would mess something like this up. Not only do you have to pay extra to have the bag monogrammed but they completely mess it up.
Update: They sent a second bag that was completely monogrammed worse then the first one. Everyday I got in contact with them the story changed. One day the bag was supposed to be exchanged, one day I was supposed to get an unmonogrammed bag but apparently it was sold out. I asked if I could exchange for another bag and the manager stated that I would have to pay the remaining balance. After you messed up my order twice, it was absolutely unacceptable. I will never be doing business with them again. Completely unprofessional. With that quality of service they should not have a store on 5th Ave. They don't belong there. See More

OMG - Their bags are not only beautiful but so functional. I love the extra pockets both inside & out, the interchangeable straps and the detailing - gorgeous w...ithout being OTT. They have numerous sales and promotions so you'll hardly ever have to pay full price or you'll get something extra in your order - which is always nice! We're truly addicted to Henri Bendel Bags!!! If you order on the website, make sure you watch to see if your order has shipped. Even though I have ordered and payed with Paypal multiple times lately with ...no problems, apparently, my order was on hold due to a glitch with Paypal. No one contacted me. It was after my order did not arrive when it was supposed to or the next day, that I contacted the company for tracking. Chelsea, in support, told me, "We do not have a special team that watches every order that is submitted online I am so sorry. We have to count on the customer to keep an eye out on their order." Who knew, it was the customer's responsibility to make sure an order is fulfilled? I received a confirmation email for my purchase. I expected it on the date I was quoted when I ordered. For the price they charge, I expected top notch service. See More

Me and my mother went into the NY store yesterday and had an amazing experience! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Stacey A. Was awesome, always right there... asking if we needed anything atall! She was so sweet and every time we found something we wanted she went and got a new one from the back. Our experience was very pleasant and the customer service was exceptional. I got my Rivington Tote just the other day and I love it! The monogram on it is just perfect, makes it so personal and I have already gotten compliments for the... bag. �
I messed up on the number for my shipping address so I called and the lady was so helpful and managed to change it so I got my bag delivered on time and to the right address �

I am so disappointed with my experience with Henri Bendel. My mom ordered a bag for me at Christmas and it never arrived. When she called, they told her the ord...er was cancelled. She never received word that it had been cancelled and they gave no reason why the order was cancelled as all the information matched up on her end and theirs. The color that I wanted was sold out by the time this was figured out so I waited and ordered a bag earlier this month (March) that was a similar color to what I originally wanted. Guess what? It has not arrived so I called today and they informed me the order was cancelled AGAIN. No reasoning- just a glitch in the system as all the information entered was matching and correct. They made no overtures to make this right other than telling me the bag is still 20% online if I want to try again...for a third time. I really want this bag but cannot justify doing business with this company for a 3rd time and no guarantee. Really poor business operations on their part! See More

I am compelled to write these unsolicited words of praise to the Henri Bendel corporate office.
I accidentally left about thirty-five dollars in my wallet, whi...ch was sent out for monogramming, from the Easton Town Center store in Columbus, Ohio. . I received the wallet today with the cash intact and the tasteful monogramming completed.
Henri Bendel backs up its beautiful merchandise, provides gift-worthy wrapping, and delivers on time as promised.
In a time of distrust and criticism, I refresh my memory that there are good, honest, and trustworthy people in the world. Thanks to the employees at Henri Bendel.

Ordered a bag, was told I would get a "free market tote" with the bag. They also offered a 25% discount with a code. Nowhere was it mentioned that this negates ...the "free tote". The website states "free market tote" with any purchase over $200. With the discount I still spent $260. Don't get fooled by these people like I did. I'm thinking of returning the bag but don't trust them to give me a refund. See More

I bought a purse from them at south coast plaza a year ago and I've used it everyday since. It has held up so well that I've fallen in love with the brand becau...se of it. I recently got the weekender bag while they were doing their cyber Monday deals and used it for the first time this past weekend and it has been great so far. I love HB. I always have great customer service on the phone or shopping at their stores - the flagship store in NYC is my favorite! They also go above and beyo...nd to find the purse I want that was sold out on line. The packaging is exquisite, arrives on time, never have a problem about monogram. ❤❤❤ See More

Great internet shipping, and excellent, friendly and helpful service every time I have visited the Somerset Collection store in Troy, MI and the Water Tower Pla...ce store in Chicago. I had an issue where I bought some sunglasses at the Troy, MI store and they forgot to include the case. I live across the state and called the store when I got home and unpacked my bags and realized this. The staff was friendly and apologized. They took my information and promptly shipped out a case to me, no questions asked. Great service! See More

This company is absolutely fabulous! Their customer service always replies promptly and courteously. I recently made a mistake on a monogrammed item and they let me return it and send me the correct one. The quality of their handbags and jewelry is definitely worth the price too!

Best high end bag company there is!! I has bought 3 bags, 2 wallets and loads of candles in the last year and they have all held up so well!! I get never ending compliments on my bags and couldn't be any happier with them!

I have been calling and emailing for three years to be removed from your mailing list but at least once monthly I receive a paper mailer at my home address. This is absurd. What does it take to get you to stop mailing junk to me?

I ordered my handbag and wallet monogrammed! The Henri Bendel logo as well as my monogram. Is wearing off and cracking. I called customer service and they're ...sending me a packing label to send back. This was my first HB purchase. I was hoping for better quality considering the price. Hopefully once I send it in they'll send me a new bag that will last. See More

I have a whipped stitched Jet setter backpack, which was bought off line in early May. The backpack is my 50 th birthday present, which is fantastic bag?! The lining is too dark, the front slip pocket is useless. Though it is really roomy, I should have kept looking a little more.

While on vacation in Florida with my daughter last year she purchased the black convertible backpack. One year later we are back and were shopping when the empl...oyee noticed that the metal on her bag was worn and appeared silver instead if gold. They replaced the bag on the spot! We never brought it to there attention they noticed while she was shopping. Great customer service!!! We will be back. See More
