Chicago magazine sat down with a group of Chicago comics at the Hideout to try and figure out the what (if any) is off limits in the world of comedy today...

Six Chicago comedians walk into a bar ... and have a frank (and funny) discussion about harassment, patriarchy, creepy men, and other things no one’s supposed to joke about.

Just announced! Marisa Anderson at The Hideout 4/17!

This is a dive bar with a social conscience featuring great poetry, great music, and great social activism. This Ben Jarovsky Show broadcast was very informative and entertaining with politically astu...te guests. Jon Langford’s group The Four Lost Souls provided impressive music during breaks for the audience’s pleasure. I loved this event! See More

Went there for the soup and Bread 2018. The place is way to small for all the love they have. People Good, Drinks good, sound good. Spread the word. It's THE place to be.

I don't think I could be friends with anyone that rates the Hideout with fewer than 4 stars.

Feels like home, I've been going there for so long that I usually know someone when I walk in.

Cool place. Seems too small to have all the amenities it does. Musicians always love an in house PA. Make sure you ask for Julianna to run sound - she's the best. Beers were cold, tunes were hot.

The Hideout is the clubhouse! It's the spot where Chicago gets to "hide out" and be as unique and amazing as it is, as a community, family style;) which means it showcases world class entertainment an...d no valet! You can not accidentally walk by, you must intend to arrive. See More

My biggest regret in life is that I didn't get a ticket to the sold out Screaming Females show there in 2014. Imagine my relief when they released a live album of the show so that I can claw back of my life to go on. See More

Best music venue in the city. Close up. In the grit of post-industrial Chicago, just east of fashionable Wicker Par and Bucktown.

Great place to hear music! The sound guy did a great job with several of my friends who played there. I always find parking and the drinks are pretty tasty. One of these days I hope to book a show for... myself... See More
