First, and foremost, we are all safe. We want to thank our parents for their incredible cooperation. We and the authorities appreciate that you did not come to school today after receiving Steve's email.

Today we received a very vague and unsubstantiated bomb threat through school email. We immediately implemented our protocols, which are based on the recommendations from Homeland Security, which included calling the authorities and the security force at Federation. The building has been thoroughly searched, including with a trained canine. All is well and the children are back in

Our deepest appreciation to the Farmington Hills police and the staff at Federation. They were incredible.

Finally, thank you to the Hillel staff and our children – they were all fantastic and followed our directions calmly and respectfully.

Because we have so many young children, we never used the term "bomb threat" with the them. The older children generally figured it out. We did tell the chidlren that the police had to come to make sure everything was safe at school. Steve reassured them that we were safe at all times, and because we care about them so much, we were just using an over abundance of caution. Again, your children were great!

Everything is still on this afternoon - play practice, athletic programs, and our evening Open House.
