We at Himmel Haus love Lake Tahoe and look to support keeping it preserved as a natural wonder for generations to come.
Some of the best food I've had in South Lake as a local. On top of that, the Jagger is true to my German grandmothe
rs' that she made me growing up! The traditiona l spetzle ( please forgive my spelling...), with the onions and herbs is to die for! If I wasn't on a diet, I would live on it! Red cabbage is addictive. The in house made sausages.. . don't get me started! Every day is an adventure on their menu. But if you love beer, go! Run in, fast! Every German and Austrian beer made! There is this little peach mel that is making my mouth water right now! But the very best thing about this place.... the people that work there. From the dishwasher s to the managers! All outstandin g people!
I usually love this place, but recently we were coming from north lake and tried to call and make a reservatio
n. The phone went to voicemail the whole afternoon. Then we we arrived in town we went pas...t to make a booking for later that evening. The hostess was quite honestly the rudest person I’ve ever come across in a restaurant here in the USA. She informed the party in front of us that they were full and told them they could wait, no problem. So then we asked for a table at 7pm and she said “didn’t you just hear me tell these people that we don’t take reservatio ns” we said, no, they wanted a table now. We want one later, her reply was “well we don’t take reservatio ns and we are full” I understand that the place was full, but if I am ever to come back I would want to know that this girl has adjusted how she greets customers. ...

This was an amazing experience
!! We arrived early and were lucky enough to sit right next to the fire. Our server was friendly and very attentive. Our dinner was delicious! I had schnitzel with pork ...and Jaeger sauce and my boyfriend had bockwurst sausage with curry sauce. Our meals were tasty and hot and delivered in a timely manner. My bf really enjoyed his vodka tonic made with their fermented vodka. We have eaten German food in ND, MN, and CO and this was some of the finest we've ever tasted! Highly recommend this restaurant .
Fantastic food. IT reminded me of how my mother would make it when I was growing up. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Only complaint would be letting people play cards for over an hour at their t...able after they were done eating. I watched a lot of people leave due to not being able to be seated.
Amazing place! Michael the beer tender was awesome and made the perfect recommenda
tions for us. Beer was great, food was incredible ! We will be back and bringing all our friends!
I have never been up this road or even heard of this place. I have lived here for 14 years. Food is great, service great, I had the German Riesling wine. Such a hidden treasure.
It was good. Servers were fabulous. Sauerkraut
a little on the cold side. The rest of the food was good though. If you are ever in San Diego, I recommend Kaiserhopf !
