Finally!
My death grip on a crappie. Caught a pair of these, a dozen bluegill, and a bass this morning.
Saw a snake and a giant turtle. I assume it was a snapper.
Set list for tonight's coffeehouse show at the First Baptist Church in Malvern, PA. 7-9pm.
I was the only person on the entire beach yesterday.
Today, I'm 10,000 days old! Spent it fishing on the beach. And this is a beautiful exclamation point at the end of a perfect day.

My song for tomorrow is one I wrote this afternoon because the song I was planning on doing was just not working out. Plus it's inspired by the Dust Bowl and I think it's awesome.
Don't make your decisions out of what you stand to lose. Make them out of what you stand to gain.
Every time you do the easy thing instead of the right thing, you're becoming a person who does the easy thing instead of the right thing.

I'm not sure it's true, but iTunes says my new song "Know" is already my top song on iTunes after being on there for just over 3 days. That would be nuts!
My new song this week is up! iTunes is keeping me waiting, but you can download it for free right now at hirstmusic.com

If you want an average life, do what ordinary people do. If you want an extraordinary life, you must do the opposite.
"Conventional wisdom" is a crazy oxymoron. True wisdom is NEVER conventional.
Death (for believers) is just like birth: Happy and content in this body, followed by gradual discomfort, knowing this isn't where we ultimately belong, intense struggle, followed by a breath, a blinding light, and finally, loved ones and friends cheering in joyful celebration of our arrival in a world far beyond our wildest imagination.
There are no blessings apart from God. But sometimes God's greatest blessing is teaching you how to work hard.
I know without a doubt you are making a difference in people's lives. But is it a positive one or a negative one?
"Thieves, Men, and Vagabonds" is now available on iTunes.
