"Digital TV Aerial Repairs" Hi tech aerials Nottingham.
Yesterday we were called to repair a customers T.V aerial in the park in central Nottingham. We found that the mast head amplifier was upside down which let's water get into the unit. This will blow the equipment as it has a 12V current powered from a PSU unit inside the house. You can see from the images the end results of not correctly fixing it to the aerial mast. It should of been securely fixed with a cable tie and... not Upvc tape which just gets brittle when exposed to the elements of the weather. We ended up having to replace the equipment and all of the coaxial cable due to water getting into the cables itself.
If you notice your installer has done something similar then you should contact them directly to advise that you would prefer a secure fixing to the pole|mast with cable ties. The kit contains the cable tie so there is no reason why it should not be used at the time of fitting.
