It was the worst live music experience I’ve ever had, mostly owing to the fact that I had to wait 2+ hours in line to get into the venue for two consecutive nights. Everything was completely unorganiz...ed, I literally only saw one dude checking IDs for both nights, and then a few highly aggressive guards checking under patrons’ tongues for paraphernalia once you finally got past the line ID checker. It was a garbage experience for everyone involved, you couldn’t pay me enough to ever come back to your shithole venue if you tried. See More

First I’d like to say that I truly do love HOB. I’ve been here many times for many different shows and the food/service is also great and I’ve never had an issue before tonight. However, as I type thi...s review while I’m here right now for the Black Label Society show, I have to say that I’m extremely disappointed in HOB. I’m here to enjoy a show as are many many others, but I’m now standing by the exit door nursing a possible black eye and cut on my arm because HOB staff is allowing a bunch of Neanderthals to mosh tonight. Most of the floor audience who all paid good money (everyone I spoke to between sets purchased pass the line tickets) can’t enjoy the show because of 20 or so IDIOTS doing their best to beat the shit out of everyone on the floor. The rules of the house clearly state this is not allowed, and I’ve been to many rock shows here where it was stopped immediately, and yet tonight, HOB has allowed me to be assaulted. This venue is simply too small for a mosh pit, period. This has made me question whether I will ever come back here again. It’s ridiculous that I have to worry about serious bodily injury just because I wanted to enjoy a show. See More

The bread pudding was pure fire, free reach arounds and a two hour line not so much. Definitely a place to avoid if your looking to have a good time (unless security guard molestation is your thing) o...r listen to music. After standing in line for two hours and now owing child support to a security guard, I ended up leaving after 30 minutes. See More

My husband & I were at the House of Blues 3 different days of our vacation. Our server, Allison, was very helpful at suggesting great dishes. She was attentive and very friendly. The food was very f...lavorful and SO good (Jambalaya and Bacon Mac & Cheese)! Thank you for a great experience in New Orleans!! We will be back :) Allison, they are lucky to have you on their staff. Went for an after party, missed the entire show because security couldn’t get people through the door. Stood in the cold with a line down the block. Waste of money. Wish I could get a refund. Will not... recommend or return to this venue. See More

It was a Tuesday and we just visited the restaurant, seeking a change of tone from the N.O. jazz we've been enjoying so intensely these past few days. Unfortunately, I can't rate this place very highl...y. The service was great - hardworking American waiters and waitresses are invariably wonderful - but the food was poor and the music - though played well - simply wasn't blues. In addition, the place is in danger of becoming a corporate parody of a blues club, which would offend the noble timbers of which it is constructed.

Caution advised.

After visiting many HOB locations this is by far the WORST!!!!!
Worst service I've ever had period.....server wrote down the order & still messed up the order. I was in a party of 6, my food was wrong... including 4 other people In my party. Two people received cold food, which one plate was sent back to the kitchen && came back to the table, he cut open his juicy Lucy burger && it was raw meat. The whole time every mistake the manager just made excuses which were lies...I'll never visit this location ever again && with so many other food choices in the French quarter I would skip this one. They dont even receive one star with the poor service we received :( See More

The venue is nice. Food is good but limited menu. We went into the concert hall. We could barely make out vocals of every band's lead singer. Drinks are too expensive. ($15 per cocktail) I do like thi...s place. Great atmosphere and history. It's awesome, especially for tourists. Locals just need a place to go where we can enjoy music and cocktails without breaking the bank. See More

We are from Baton Rouge. We came in Saturday night, after RDR, with about 15 rowdy, drunk, guys and girls in red dresses. Our server and other employees handle us like pros. We were loud and probably... obnoxious. If I was our waiter, I would've kicked us out. Lol. No one complained or told us to simmer down. A few workers actually joined us in the shenanigans a couple times while keeping it professional. We were definitely thankful for y'all being patient and nice to us.

*Side note- We tipped our amazing waiter pretty good for putting up with us. I wish I could remember his name but if he sees this, he will know that I'm complimenting him.

I love the House of Blues. It's a great intimate venue, but they need to hire more security or come up with a better way to check everyone coming in the door. We got there at 8:30 for a 9:00 show, and... we were in line for almost an hour waiting to go though the security scan. We didn't get inside until almost 9:30, and we missed most of the opening band. The House of Blues is an old historic looking building with lots of character. I was there for the Sunday Gospel Brunch, which was a fantastic show with some celebrity entertainers. The buffet was exc...ellent with a good variety of food to choose from. Plus, some bread pudding to die for. I would highly recommend a visit to The House of Blues to anyone visiting New Orleans. Great place to be. Not as big as a concert hall but with a lot of tradition of famous artists and a great design. Only the drinks are a little bit too expensive.

Great show last night with Tower of Power. Great venue for one of the best soul bands with an awesome horn section. Emilio Castillo said it best. "New Orleans gets it." Still have it after 49 years ToP.

I attended the Gospel Brunch on 9-25-17 and it was WONDERFUL! You don't have to be in a church to praise Him! The singing was wonderful and the audience participation was excellent! I highly recommend... this event! You won't be disappointed! See More
