Tell people what you think

This food bank provides for numerous food banks in the area , but I have seen a severe discrimination in these banks . You have the Mountain Home food basket getting donations from stores all in Moun...tain Home who are under the impression that anyone in Baxter county can come in and get help . Well people that is not the truth . Mountain Home food bank serves Mountain Home and Cotter and Gassville serves just them . You can go to Mountain home all week every week and they have fresh produce , meat and a lot of essentials . the one in Cotter has nothing . I have been appalled at what they think the elderly can live on .... gatorade packets , old candy , hamburger helpers , beans .... Im sorry but I have been in two churches where we had food pantry's and we served hundreds and we had chicken and meats all gotten from the Rice Depot . There is food to be had and given but no one wants to go out of there way to go get it . The churches are busy paying up keep for the freezers and I know one that buys food . But for everyone that thinks them giving to the general coffers it doesnt happen that way . I have been with the lady that helped run the food pantry at the Methodist church when they had it . I have seen food ( just the general commodities ) go to the Cotter food pantry and that is all they get . People need to send their money to the pantry they want it serving . Because if you send it to the general fund ... it isnt getting there . See More
