Just heard, requests for Claire Roche Glenmalure Benefit Concert during afternoon at 3pm Woodford House, for people who cannot get to the evening concert at 7:30. Afternoon concert will be shorter and no supper but afternoon tea. I do not have price of that yet though.
Will not waste sunshine time putting more info up now, so please message me if this interests you and I will send back more info.
Our special Samhain Lighted Labyrinth event, before we hibernate into our winter and weave the Spring. Food, mulled cider, songs, harp and poetry from Mike Absalom . Celebrate with us. Due to parking and space, limited to 30 people, so please RSVP for this.
Anne-Marie O'Farrell here looking very comfortable playing her konghou that she brought from Hong Kong this summer. Amazing harp instrument that went extinct then was reborn not long ago as a sort of concert harp structure. Double sets of harp strings and even has a fret board. The player can bend the strings to get vibrato and other tones that sort of combines harp playing with familiar Chinese music sounds like played on a guzheng.
2017 concert series at Woodford House in South Dublin. This Saturday, the beautiful Karin Leitner is back with romantic music, flute and harp. Claire Roche is opening with songs and harps. Social wine and supper too. Would love to meet up with you there.
Some harp time from the young Fiachra Ó Corragáin of Cork who's compositions are inspired by Irish legends.

Just occurred to me, that with our Bards Around The Hearth last Sunday afternoon there was no alcohol, beverage was tea and coffee, and it did not seem anyone was looking for it either. I would not have minded as I like a drop of local ale of malt myself, but this must be fairly unique for a cottage ceilidh, and perhaps a very good compliment, here's the blog ... including 13 pics and 4 videos http://www.woodlandbard.net/…/bards-around-hearth-in-july.h…
Harp School here at Carrowcrory? Looks like its happening A blog post with pics about what happened with harpists here yesterday ... http://www.carrowcrorycottage.com/…/harp-school-at-carrowcr…
Very disappointed again, The so called O'Carolan Harp Festival in Keadue does not have a single public Harp concert, just ceili and rebel music. A good festival, if it did not con people with 'harp' in the title ... but what is this saying to the youngsters in the closed door harp competitions? "nice harp playing, but now forget the harp and go get yourself a banjo and sing rebel songs if you want a gig here and elsewhere". Many people come to Ireland, the land with harp symbols everywhere, and never see anyone playing a harp. C'mon Keadue, make this truly a Harp Festival !!! I mean, where is the harp in this pic below, for a start? http://www.ocarolanharpfestival.ie/programme.php
Quite an event at Limerick next weekend, Brian Boru Millennium Harp Festival - http://www.irishharpcentre.com/…/brian-boru-festival-bookin…
Its O'Carolan Harp Festival this weekend in Keadue, and did you notice there are NO public harp concerts in the programme this year, which sadly does happen at this festival. So, any harpers out there who could help us do a wee 'fringe' to the O'Carolan Harp Festival by the woods, even in the woods on Saturday afternoon?
All harpers in Ireland please complete this survey set up by the Irish Arts Council ... very important questions here !!! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/harpcruit2014
Would you like to perform live online with your harps? Its quite easy. Here's how ... http://woodfordevents.blogspot.ie/p/live-performance-servic…
