For the 56th consecutive day, Maher Al-Akhras, 49, from Jenin, continues his open-ended hunger strike, protesting his imprisonment. Al-Akhras has been held in Israeli prison for months without charges or a trial, in so-called "administrative detention".
The Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated in a report today that 20 Palestinian children currently in Israeli adult prisons face conditions including lack of access to ventilation and sunlight, doorless bathrooms, cells infested with insects and rats, and overcrowding in spite of Covid-19.
