Don't miss the last concert of the summer. The Fabulous Thunderbirds are playing at the James M. Robb Colorado River State Park in Fruita, Colorado! The gates open at 6:00 PM and the bands start playing at 7:30 PM. Parking inside the park is on a first come basis. Vehicles with less than 4 occupants will be charged for a $7.00 State Parks pass. Vehicles with 4 or more, and those who have an Annual State Parks passes can come in at no charge until parking areas are full. If you have any further questions about the concert please feel free to contact the Fruita State Park Office at (970)858-9188.
Ice is the word of the day! We still don't have much accessible ice throughout all sections of the park. There is only about an inch of ice around the shoreline of Corn Lake. (Don't be fooled, the ice hut in the background is set up on our fishing dock.) Island Acres has the most accessible ice on the west side of Old Orchard. Connected Lakes has ice but again, shoreline ice is very thin making it inaccessible. Please use caution around icy ponds. If pets fall in, don't go after them!
Make the pledge to enjoy some fresh air this Black Friday. Enjoy free admission to Colorado’s state parks on November 25! http://bit.ly/2gcWaVy #FreshAirFriday
Corn Lake was stocked October 17th with 4,000 fish! And the fishermen have said that they are still biting even a month after the stocking date!
