1-24-17 WOW these reviews are all over the place... I didn't get to go to Jaspers but wanted to because I am travelling with 2 puppies and the place was pet friendly. I did call the Ridgeland hotel I...'ll be staying at this weekend and asked about the closing and was told the owner (or one of owners) passed away. Not sure if that accounts for unhappiness because of all the different dates in reviews (Note.. I had to give a rating in order to leave this message) See More

On our way through we stopped for dinner because the physical appearance and the setting is awesome. I can't even describe how disappointed we were with the food (small portions, overpriced, terribl...e quality, overcooked, cold), the service (the place was practically empty and we waited forever to initially get waited on, to get beverages once we finally did, for the appetizer (which was terrible), for our entrees (insulting) and had to actually get up and ask someone else for the bill because the waitress never returned to the table! We witnessed people getting up and leaving, walking in and walking out and, as I mentioned, nobody was in the place except us and maybe 6 others. I did not pay attention to the red flags so we paid the price of being thoroughly disappointed and feeling as though we were fleeced. If this is an every day experience, then I don't give the place another 30 days of survival. See More

Unless you order from the buffet don't come here. We waited over 30 minutes for waffles, eggs and pancakes. Waitress was the incredible disappearing person. We asked for more coffee and tea while it never came. Food was ok when it came. Not bad but really not worth the wait. The kids like the pond (you can't rightfully call this a lake) but all in all, it was a very bad experience. See More

Had the most amazing service here! Our waitress was a blonde woman this past Monday around 4 pm on the porch with our puppy Auggie (I think her name was Vicki?) ! We stopped because we saw a billboar...d with a paw print on it and the word "lakefront"!!!

Not only were they pet friendly but they truly embodied that southern hospitality. Additionally we got to see a TON of turtles and a gator swimming around right by the dock! I'm not going to lie, I thought the fried green tomatoes and pickles were a little too heavily breaded but everything else was great.

Thank you for a great lunch stop to break up our trip home to northern Florida!

Stopped in Friday night on the way to Florida. Hands down the best collard greens I've ever eaten. Also had macaroni and cheese, fried green tomatoes, chicken wings, and shrimp and scallop pasta, all ...of which was delicious. Hope we have the opportunity to swing through again! See More

Thanks for a great Southern dinner last night on our way home from Florida. Who knew we liked collard greens? Very much enjoyed our dinner on the back porch, the food, our waitress Holly, and the whol...e atmosphere. A meal and a memory, so much better than a chain restaurant stop! See More

May be a nice buffet after church but by 3pm not so good; some odd cuts of fried chicken, gristly prime rib and four or five plates of dessert on a table isn't worth $15 a head. The head lady even wan...ted to argue about it when I mentioned my disappointment "well, we got more banana pudding in the back!"... Well, it's a buffet, I shouldn't have to ask for food... See More

Had a delicious meal ... Fried chicken was delicious .. We ate out on the porch and watched the fountain and the rain and it was perfect .. The personnel of the restaurant were friendly and efficient ..... We want thank everyone at the restaurant as someone in our party left their handbag at the restaurant and they went out of their way to see that she got it back .. Thank you all so much .. We will definitely stop there again ... See More

We are so glad we stopped here for lunch! Can't say which was the best from the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken, or po'boy sandwich because they were ALL the best we've ever had! The location, am...biance, and especially the staff made the whole dining experience PERFECT! Thank you, Vicki, for taking such good care of us! See More

The service was terrible. I ordered an old fashion burger and waited forever to get it and when i finally received it was red in the middle, not even pink. I sent it back and the waitress brought me m...y plate back with what little fries i did have and told me that i can eat on these until i get my burger back. Well when i did finally get my burger back there were no fries on the plate. Had to ask twice to get a refill. We usually stop in to eat after visiting my brother who's in the Marine corp but dont think I will be stopping back. This happened on January 2, 2016 at 3:30 pm. See More

I just love this place !! I stopped in tonight on my way back from Virginia going back home to Florida. I had their wonderful she crab soup. I also asked for souvenir coffee cups which they were able find two of them for me. I will always stop here when on a road trip !! See More

My husband I decided to stop when we saw the word "lakeside" on the billboard. The buffet was a great price and it was warm enough to sit out on the porch which is on the man made "lake". Huge carp seen swimming from the porch and the fountain in the middle of the lake was nice. We will definitely be back. See More

Whenever my wife and I travel to or from Florida, we try to stop at Jasper's Porch. Sitting on the screened porch looking out on the pond while enjoying some great Southern cooking just melts away t...he stress of I-95. On occasion, the gator will make an appearance in or around the pond (if he can get past all the turtles!), which makes things more interesting as well. I highly recommend you add Jasper's to your travel itinerary. See More

My grandparents, my mom and I stopped here for dinner on the way to Disney and it was absolutely horrible. We had to wait for like 20 minutes until the owner's son (really hot Ben Affleck lookalike LO...L) came and apologized and took us to our table which was outside on the lake. We had no waitress and the owner's son had to take our drink orders. That's when I decided that I should go back to the hotel and sleep since we had been driving for 12 hours. My grandparents ended up eating and they said that the food was GARBAGE. They had guessed that it was under new management since they had eaten there before. See More

We went to Jasper Porch an 7-11-15 for dinner and it was the worst it could have ever been. It had been a while since we had been there and wanted to try it to see if it had actually changed. Will it ...had for the worst. I live here in Ridgeland and from this experience I think that Jasper Porch is relying on the visitors off I-95 to support this business. It was so hot inside that it was actually cooler outside @ 98 degrees and a high heat index. The tables had plastic covers on them which you stuck to every time you tried to move, the sweat off the glasses was running into my lap as well as off the table. The buffet, the pork chops were still pink on the inside the corn had been sitting out for a long period of time, the fish was hard from sitting out or being reheated, the green beans were old mixed with a little new, the best part of the entire dinner was the mash potatoes. I WILL NEVER GO BACK, regardless. See More

So very disappointed. The reviews were all favorable that I had read, and we are not picky, gourmet eaters. We had the buffet on a Saturday afternoon, and food was average, and some of it lukewarm. ... It was not crowded, yet we waited for a table, and the poor wait staff seemed overwhelmed. I don't know if they were short of help, but some of the diners looked as confused as us. I heard the woman in back of us say that she was going to give this place one last try, so hard to say what the issue was. Our waitress was lovely, but certainly had too much on her plate. See More

They need to update the table clothes because they were cheap and ripped. The green beans were out of a can. You would just expect more for the prices they charge for food. The lake was nice and so wa...s the waitress. See More

I'm a former restaurant owner and chef. Jasper ' s is absolutely terrific! Our meals have definitely renewed my faith in the family owned and operated food service restaurants. The atmosphere is just ...another reason for everyone to try it! Very comfortable and homey, just like being back home in New England.
My chopped sirloin was perfection beyond measure. Extremely friendly and attentive waitress (Kat). Manage came to our table, owner greeted us, and wished us safe travels. He even invited us to join them again on our way, back to Cleveland, Ohio. I can't say enough great things about this (GEM of southern SC (Ridgeland) !
We loved it! Come try it for your self. Oh, by the way, the prices are great! Quality of the food was the best of the best!
Thanks Jaspers for a wonderful meal, but I definitely ate too much.
