Sharing of Life Lessons and Dance Lessons... how both are similar and what can we learn from it.

Just a quick intro about myself for those who don't know me.

I'm the Principal and Artistic Director of Rhythm Identity Dance Academy; which is one of Malaysia's top social Latin and partner dance school. I dance, perform, choreography and teach not only in Malaysia but internationally as well.

...

I started off with Salsa and was the reigning Malaysian Salsa Champion from 2005 till 2009.

Back in 2008 I started building Bachata and was coined as the Malaysian King of Bachata for the work that I do in the scene. I was the first Bachata instructor in Malaysia with a full syllabus of Bachata dance lessons and also the first Bachata instructor in Malaysia to go international.

And late 2009, I ventured into Brazilian Zouk and pioneered this dance scene from zero to becoming one of Asia's main Brazilian Zouk dance scene. I organized the largest Brazilian Zouk Dance Festival in Asia and am currently Asia's No1 Zouk Artist as I perform, teach, social dance, DJ and have performed alongside World Zouk Champions as well as with the top names in the industry.

I have also helped to create many competition champions at the National and also the Asian title levels.

Before I was full force into running my dance school, I was a Speaker, Trainer and Coach; and have worked on many training projects with large corporations and financial institutions here in Malaysia. Now, I am more focused on building the dance scene and combining both my knowledge and experience in growing people and growing dance together.

I hope you will like my page here and follow me as I share more of my passion for Life and Dance and how they intertwine with each other.

Dance is Life.
Life is Dance.

Having known Jaxen since 2008... he's been one of the most pivotal figures in the Asian Latin Dance Community, and has organized many successful (Zouk) festivals and other similar parties & events tha...t bring together hundreds and thousands of people year after year, and helped spread the love for the dances he strongly believes in. Value-giver+++. If you haven't yet experienced his teachings, or his personality, go for it, you won't be disappointed! See More

Titanium cover by Madilyn Bailey Brazilian Zouk dance demo by Jaxen and Cheryl. Our 2nd workshop demo at Vietnam Zouk Marathon. Building up more connection with each other as this is the first time we're working together since maybe 4 to 5 years ago. Building connection is important in dance as it allows you to dance better with each other and makes the dance for fun and enjoyable. In life we need to build connection with the people we work with and the people in our lives. That way you can have a better quality of life. Don't stay a stranger.

Would you like to learn how to spin like this? Ask me how. In life and in dance, achieving mastery over a skill requires lots of practice and hardwork via the correct method. Helps when there's someone to teach and guide you. Do you need help in life or dance?

Hard work at practicing our choreography. Even then it's still not enough. More needs to be put in for it to be better. How much hard work do you put into your own creation? How much hard work do you put into your life for the things you want to achieve?

Training with 2X World Zouk Champion Alisson at Zouk SEA Festival 2017... previously undisclosed video footage.
It's rare to get the chance to train with the top names in any industry and I am happy to have had the opportunity to learn from some of the biggest names not only in the Brazilian Zouk scene but also in Bachata and Salsa.
Having the right people to teach and guide you is important if you want to raise yourself to the next level. Do you have anyone to do that for you? If not... time to find one. Or just stay where you are if comfort zone is your thing.

One of my favourite fusion dance routine performed with Cecilia. It was also our first time ever chosen to be the closing show for an international dance event.

Rhythm Identity Dance Academy went there with a total of 5 performances and a plane full of students. Was truly a fun and memorable event for all of us.

At Rhythm Identity Dance Academy, its not just about dance... it's about having fun and enjoying each other's company while travelling around the world.
