Trump & Session’s zero tolerance policy was about INTENTIONALLY harming children. They never made a plan for the care of these children. The only plan was to inflict trauma.

America has always stood as a beacon of hope, opportunity, and safety to the world. Sadly, the Trump administration has turned that proud tradition on its head. This year, they’re setting a maximum number of refugees that will be the lowest number admitted into the United States in the entire 40 year history of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program. These are men, women, and children fleeing the most horrific of living conditions, violence, and oppression. What this administration is doing is wrong, inhumane and un-American. It’s not who the American people want our country to be. I’m fighting to restore refugee admissions to their long-standing historic average, and restoring America’s global leadership on human rights so that we can once again be that beacon of hope and security that the world so desperately needs.
