I've known about this place for a a couple of years via an old high school friend but never actually went there until earlier this year. I was in vinyl heaven! Doug, the owner, is SUPER friendly & per...sonable. If he doesn't have what you're looking for he does his best to find it & order it for you. He always keeps his bins refreshed so every time I go there to pick up albums I'd ordered, I always sort through his other stuff & more often than not, end up buying more than what I'd ordered from him. I used to shop for my vinyl on Amazon. But why buy a record for $17.99 plus shipping in used/good condition when Doug can get the same album BRAND NEW for $20? Jerk Dog Records is my Shangri-la. It's like going in to a cool brother or uncle's garage and looking at an amazing collection. Even though we were first timers he treated us warmly and asked about our interests. Wish I had found thi...s place sooner. If you're a vinyl person this is a great place. See More

BY FAR THE COOLEST VINYL SHOP IVE EVER BEEN IN! Came to Florida from Michigan to visit family found this gem of a store. The atmosphere was amazing! A lil hard to find tucked away in the owners garage... but he was super friendly and had some AMAZING DEALS. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in if you're in the area See More

A great shop in the middle of a cool arts district in Bradenton. The owner is a great music fan, and engages his customers in a helpful way, but not in any way overbearing. Plus we had a great conv...ersation about the Replacements, which is always a sign of a true music fan. See More

Great selection of underground vinyl cds cassettes & zines, remind of a record store I used to go to in the 80s in Countryside just north of Clearwater- lots of obscure treasures at an affordable pric...e- Today (Record Store Day) I scored some great cds The Reatards, Negativland, Gang of Four, Unknown Hinsen, Rocket From the Crypt, and a 7"(had to buy SOME vinyl) from the great band that was playing Sonic Graffiti- See More

Finally a real record store to hang out at again. Shop here and support this place. Doug is awesome and now has given us a local vinyl shop and can get other formats as well.

Had a blast chatting with Doug and digging through old vinyl today. We ended up buying several LP's for a great price. We love this place and we will definitely be going back.

picked up a working sansui turntable that just needs a needle or cartridge replacement. will sell very cheap.

anybody familiar w/ the band gentle giant? I have several of their records available.

jerk dog records is taking a hiatus from buying quantities of used records until after record store day (april 21). if you have 20 or less please bring them by but more than that you can either hold on to them or check out some of the other nearby fine record stores.

I love selling records everyone loves but i'm stoked with this bunch of used records I just acquired. ian dury, dokken, sham 69, anthrax, queenryche, manowar, metallica, metal church, storm troopers of death, kiss, 999, stryper, megadeth, def leppard, the professionals, judas priest, and the heavy metal sound track. this came my way just as I was pricing up some jimmy buffet records.

I've placed my record store day order but if you peruse the list and see something you want let me know so I can add it to the order. I can't promise i'll get it and i'm not allowed to hold but I can try to have it available.

bunch of new records put out for this week. 3rd bass, bad brains s/t, big business, black dahlia murder, breeders (brand new one and 1st one since their 1st with the original lineup. what I've heard is great), circle jerks "wonderful", screamin jay Hawkins, john lee hooker, no!se, om (members of sleep), power trip (my pick for best metal record of the year), rem "dead letter office" and "life's rich pageantry", pharaoh sanders, ty seagal "freedoms goblin" (brand new one), nin...a simone, suicidal tendencies s/t (the best one), the Templars (newest and first release in years), jack white (1st single off new album), new unreleased jimi Hendrix "both sides of the sky", david bowie "lodger", "low", and "heroes", beck "colors", beastie boys "solid gold hits" and "liscensed to ill", david byrne "American utopia" (brand new), old dirty bastard "return to the 36 chambers", run the jewels s/t, dr. dre "chronic", nwa "straight outta Compton", and roky Erickson "evil one". some of the brand new releases won't be available till Friday (official release date)
