If you're into the record scene ... make the pilgrimage
just placed an order w/ sst records, home of some cool bands you might be familiar w/. bad brains, black flag, descendants, husker du, negativland, saint vitus. those were just the ones I ordered. will have titles from these artists at a much lower price than I was getting from distributors.
will be putting out some great used records this week. lots of super quality beatles, led zep, pink Floyd, kinks, u2, prince, Michael Jackson, yes, grand funk railroad, bruce springsteen, black Sabbath, yes, etc. also there are a lot of good quality but nothing special titles. if any of you would like to dig through the boxes I will sell them for what I paid which is $1. think steve miller, Chicago, moody blues, things of that ilk.
new records priced up and ready for Wednesday. slayer-seasons in the abyss, reign in blood, and south of heaven. godflesh-post self (newest release, great record) and songs of love and hate. rage against the machine-s/t picture disc. king gizzard & the lizard wizard- polygondwanaland. unsane-sterilize. smashing pumpkins-gish. cage the elephant- tell me i'm pretty.
got some used records to put out for next week. none of the covers are perfect but the records are very good and there are some great titles. rolling stones "satanic majesty's ..." (missing holographic cover picture, of course), grateful dead s/t, "wake of the flood", and "American beauty", lynyrd skynyrd, jimi Hendrix, led zep IV and "physical graffiti", bruce springsteen "born in the usa", dereck and the dominoes, van Morrison, blue oyster cult, small faces, byrds, johnny winter, neil young, and Santana.
new records put out today. lp's by antiflag, the queers, czarface, fishbone, ghostface killah, baby huey (great rare reissue of a long out of print r&b singer), cypress hill, run dmc (1st 3 records), toots and the maytals, mf doom, dickies, and new order. several 7's by boogie down productions.
Some used records just put out, rosewater Elizabeth, talking heads, peaches w Gibby Haynes, butthole surfers, front 242, future sounds of London, specials, jaw box, Rodney on the roq comp, someone got their head kicked in comp, misfits, Paris violence, cradle of filth, and several op ivy 7" bootlegs.
got some cool stuff in. finally restocked the jerk dog canvas bags, only $5, and got the new issue of razorcake in. the cover article features one of my favorite bands, the blind shake, a heavy reverb/surfy guitar garage punk band from Minnesota. also a lengthy interview with dick dictor of mdc. as always only $4 and the left over back issues are free w/ purchase. if you don't know, razorcake is a not for profit venture. they do interviews, tons of reviews of music, books, and zines, and have columns from the likes of rev norb, narduwar, and the rhythm chicken. well worth the asking price.
New records just came in including brand new ty seagal and godflesh. Others include bad brains, beck, big business, bomboras, danger doom (mf doom and danger mouse), drug church, flight of the conchords, jimi hendrix, several by mastodon, the spears, wavves, and amy winehouse.
did some moving and organizing to make your record buying experience all the better. i'm going to extend the free $.50 records through February (added a lot more dj singles and culled some from the $3 area). there are some great finds, some of the dj singles retail for $10 and could easily be flipped on discogs. open wed-thurs 5-8 and this Friday open later for the art walk, sat. 12:30-5. as always if you have quality used records to sell I have money to spend, hit me up.
