Kansas Day 2018

Jerry Moran: Many of us choose to live here because of the natural beauty. The clean air, the rivers and our streams. The sunrises and sunsets, and the beautiful sky. It's a special place, and part of that is because of that beauty, but it's really the people that make Kansas such a desirable place to live and to raise a family. It's about neighbors who care for their neighbors and a sense of community. It's a sense of belonging. We're a place where agriculture and family farms are important. It's a way that we earn a living, but it's also a way that we live our lives. It's a place where we manufacture things and trade them- -all over the world. Kansans support their military. We honor our veterans. We have common sense, and we're trustworthy and honest. And there's still faith in the way that we live our lives, a belief in God. Our history tells us: "To the stars through difficulties." We all come together in the effort to make sure life is better tomorrow- -better than it was today.
