We feed raw (and occasionally home cooked stews) and feed the babies raw. We send them to their new homes where they eat raw. It's okay if you are new to learning about raw, or if you don't know anything at all about it - we are here to help.

One of our puppies that went to a home only 20 minutes away from us, living a really fun life on a farm with a gorgeous barn for the horses! (Verity Jupe von Jersey at 5 months old)

AAHA (considered by conventional vets to be the gold standard in governing bodies in North America) is now recommending titre testing. Because..science..

Finally!

Buried in this is the endorsement for titer testing!!
"Updated recommendations on antibody testing versus vaccination, addressing indications for the use of ser...ology in assessing a patient’s response (or lack of response) to vaccination and providing a series of algorithms outlining patient management recommendations based on test results "
A step in the right direction for the conventional realm.

With almost twice the content of the previous version, AAHA’s revised and updated Canine Vaccination Guidelines include important changes and new recommendations important for all practitioners.

We spend a lot of time with people who express an interest in our puppy lines talking about vaccines and feeding. Most people are brand new to the idea of feeding a whole food diet and minimal (or in some cases no) vaccines.

It's hard because you hear one thing from your breeder, then something different from your vet. We *want* to trust our vet - they went to vet school. However, as a profession they are slow to adopt to change. Unless you educate yourself how are you suppos...ed to know this? This article quotes the AAHA (gold standard for vet care in North America) in a veterinary journal, and basically says vets are still over vaccinating animals without any science to back them up. http://www.dogsnaturallymagazine.com/what-every-vet-should…/

If you are interested, I recommend taking a read. It's hard to change our belief systems, even when every science study out there is showing us our current way is wrong. This is one of the reasons Jersey Boxers does minimal vaccination (and tries for natural immunization first). For long life and great health of your animals, we wish you strength in making the right choices.

Interesting live video, starts to get to the point of interesting vaccine info around 7 to 8 minute mark. He's explaining how we have an antibody response (shown on titre testing) and how we have a cellular response (not currently able to measure outside of research labs). He also comments that the best time to do a titre test is around 4 weeks after the vaccine (or natural exposure).

Titres are much less costly if your vet will send the blood out to Hemopet in the USA, or Kansas State for rabies.

Update: Ludwig has found a great experienced home. Thank you to all who were interested in him.

Available to a suitable home, contact us for information. Ludwig is a fully European bred boxer located in Ontario, Canada. Raised using puppy culture protocols. Crate trained, house trained, bite inhibition along with bite pillow work started. Has a great desire to chase, tug and bite, excellent at learning new skills quickly.

Our strong boy, Ludwig, the brindle male puppy is now available to a working or performance home. We would also consider a very well experienced pet home for the right family.

Naturally reared, intact tail, ears and dewclaws. Full European breeding. Great drive and desire to work, tested well as an alert dog, first one out in the rain so long as he gets to work with a person or do a full mouth bite on a tug.

And then there were three.

Can't get them to all sit still in one spot currently, one puppy has gone. Hildegard (Bella) is now in her new home, with amazing and loving owners. Congratulations Alicia Marie and Paweł, she will have a wonderful life with you.

Thanks to Kellie for invaluable help today. Couldn't have wrangled all the pups at the vet without her! They were worn out with the excitement of it all
