Please pray and support God's workers in the field...
“Let me be honest, in the back of the mind the fear is always there. In the jungle, you have wolves and tigers – but the rabbit has to come out of his hole some...time," one Bible Society Area Leader describes what it is like to live in such an atmosphere - where churches have been bombed and torched, and Christians have been burnt alive.
Only this past December a church bombing brought injury and death to three of his family members. “Please pray for our family,” he asks, “and also for those who have lost their loved ones and those who have been injured. It is my prayer that peace and tolerance may prevail and permeate the atmosphere.”
What keeps this Area Leader where he is? It is the vital role God’s word plays in helping such an oppressed and marginalized church withstand the pressure. Despite the risks in this location, Bible Society sells tens of thousands of Bibles a year, and many more disappear from hospitals. They have also produced Bible resources for children, students, and the illiterate. “I could have left years ago,” he reflects, “but this work is a commitment, a calling. It’s not easy, but if we leave, what will happen? Christians are fearful and need support. And educated minds are seeking out the truth, so we must be here to serve them.”
Praise God for this man’s courage and commitment. And please pray for his and his team’s safety. To donate to support ministries like this, please visit www.biblesociety.org.au/strengthen #ChurchUnderPressure #Bibleverse

“When I became a Christian in 1962, everything changed, radically changed. I never wanted to drink again, I never had withdrawals, I never even had to go to any sort of counselling, but my life just so radically changed. One minute you’re lacing your sentences with four-letter words – swearing – and, like, the next day when I put my life in the hands of the Lord, I just couldn’t stand to hear people swearing, let alone ever wanting to drink again.
“So to me it was a miracle, a miracle that saved me all the way even today. I never, ever desire to go back into that old way of life.” - Ossie Cruse
The best thing that parents can do to raise kids who become spiritually healthy young adults is getting them reading the Bible regularly, according to a recent study.

The workplace can be an incredibly challenging place for Christians. Even Christian workplaces are places where we see sin clearly. Just think about the synonyms for work: labour, toil, hard yakka, slog, drudgery, grind, travail and exertion.
However, workplaces also represent enormous opportunities for Christians... https://www.eternitynews.com.au/…/11-impossible-people-yo…/… #JesusAllAboutLife

Nola’s journey back to the joy of loving and being loved by God began when a group of Christian women who reach out to those who feel trapped in the sex industry began visiting the brothel... Then last Christmas, the women dropped off a Bible at the brothel.
This former madam used to laugh at the Christian women who visited her brothel, bringing food and the Bible.
Last year we held a short film competition held to mark the 200th anniversary of Bible Society Australia. One of our favourite entries was an incredibly poetic ...reading of John 16:33 submitted by Nathaniel Haslem. Watch it here.
