This article I wrote for Think Liberty was published a couple weeks ago, but it's awfully timely given the events of today.

I wrote an article for Think Liberty on the Antifa idea of "punching a Nazi" and the alt-right/Hoppean idea of throwing communists out of helicopters: http://think-liberty.com/…/08/03/against-political-violence/
Although I plan to write an article about this at a future point in time, I'd like to clear up a misconception I've seen regarding my recent articles (specifically the one about Augustus Invictus). It has been brought to my attention that Invictus has previously received threats of violence for espousing his political positions.
Though I disagree with him fully and want him to have no power in the libertarian movement, I fully condemn any violence or threats there of against him. I believe the Antifa idea of "punching a Nazi" to be antithetical to the non-aggression principle and feel the same way about the alt-right's idea of throwing communists out of helicopters. My ideal scenario is one in which Invictus has no influence or political power but is able to watch libertarian ideals flourish from the comfort of his couch.

As I mention at the end of the article below, I am calling on Justin Moldow and the rest of the leadership at Liberty Hangout to publicly condemn the outwardly anti-Semitic and racist comments of their contributor, Jared Howe. Hate for people based on the color of their skin, their religion, or their national origin has no place in a movement that espouses the idea that everyone should be judged as an individual. Silence about these comments while giving a platform to and supporting this individual creates an appearance of endorsement.

"As many in the liberty movement are aware, the rise of Donald Trump has resulted in an influx of alt-right ideology into libertarian circles. I discussed this extensively in my recent article, Trump Libertarians: Rise of the Anarcho-Statists, but this time I’d like to focus on one individual in particular. This individual so perfectly exemplifies the problems brought on by the recent trend of anarcho-statism: a perfect storm of fascism, general authoritarianism, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism. His name is Jared Howe."

Working on a piece about a certain website that claims to be promote liberty but tends to do the opposite... stay tuned.
I sincerely hope this isn't how all of the writers at Liberty Hangout respond to intellectual criticism. (Re: https://johnmhudak.com/…/trump-libertarians-rise-of-the-an…/)

The first article from our new contributor Stephen Walters on how the fear of isolation limits the range of acceptable political opinions.

There is a pervasive idea in today’s American society that regardless of political philosophy or party affiliation, one must never criticize the members of the United States military. Conventional wisdom holds that we must appreciate the sacrifice soldiers have made to “fight for our freedom,” and even if one is against the war, they must always “support the troops.” This line of thinking is not coming solely from the pro-war crowd; many of those who consider themselves anti-war (or at least oppose a specific war or conflict) have the utmost regard for those who fight in them. But is this canonization of those who take up arms in the name of the United States government truly just? Or is it a falsehood based on propaganda, emotion, and a lack of critical thinking?
