February clinic was a great success. Thank you to all the coaches and staff, but most importantly thank you to all the skaters who attended. 80+ skaters on any given day! Looking forward to the next clinic! See you in August for pre-season conditioning clinic in Woburn!
What do you do after skating 24 hours over the February vacation? Of course you clear the snow off the backyard rink at the O'Reilly's house in Burlington Saturday night and play a two hour pick up game while the snow keeps coming. Kids on ice never get in hot water.

There are many camps out there and each child may react differently to different programs and instructors. This is my personal experience and is not an endorsement from Medford Rec Hockey. Some programs have been excluded because I don’t know enough about them and others have been excluded because I don’t think they do the best job. We will start a thread on our FaceBook page for others to comment. I would personally recommend all o...f the clinics below:
All Around Skating for New to Mid-level players: Roderick Skills.
These guys take the time and have the knowledge to correct your player’s technique. They will not leave any player behind. They are also excellent at developing a relationship with your player and inspiring him or her. Last year, my son was getting burned out on hockey in February, he attended one of John’s camps, came home and said, “Coach John got me excited about playing hockey again.” John is a school Principal in Cambridge and was drafted by the Saint Louis Blues. He knows kids and he knows hockey.
This is the last week of my summer camps. What a productive summer of overflowing growth from these kiddos. After Labor Day, Burlington YH, Woburn YH, Winchester YH, Cambridge YH & Lexington/Bedford YH contracts begin. Bring it on!
Day 2 of my Woburn Pro Ambitions Camp has completed. I was putting my pucks and comes in the truck when i noticed to boys waiting to get picked up. After packing my truck, I walked over to stay with them until a parent showed up. I asked them if if they were enjoying the camp. The younger one said yes, but I can't move my legs right now because of how hard you skated us tonight. I said, well then you must have worked hard. He said, ya, to hard, then moaned. Lol.
