We are so thankful to Tasha from Acquired Taste Tea for making a special 'Annie's Blend Tea' for today's festivities!
The Jivin' Belles are filling the John Walter Museum with lovely music. Thank you so much for adding to our celebration of Annie Walter's birthday.
The linens are out and the china has been set. John Walter Museum is ready to celebrate Annie Walter's 164th birthday from 1-4pm this afternoon. Join us for live music, special blended tea and calligraphy!
Don't forget, this Sunday from 1-4 PM at the John Walter Museum is our free special event - the Walterdale Tea Party!
Get dressed up and come on down to celebrate Annie Walter's birthday in style! We will be featuring homemade treats, a special "Walterdale Blend" of tea (while supplies last), live music, historic games, and history and antiques experts to talk about interesting women in Edmonton and to tell you about your special tea cups and saucers!
You are also invited to ...make your own tea blend, make your own calling card with members of the Edmonton Calligraphy Society, and learn about edible and usable plants that grow right here in the river valley!
We look forward to seeing you there!

Well things are a bit topsy-turvy for our 3rd house porch right now, but it's going to be great when the work is completed! The wood was rotted right through!

Wow! 311 gets it done! Our fallen tree has been delimbed, chopped up and removed by our fine colleagues from the City of Edmonton Forestry team!
We hope you enjoy Victoria Day tomorrow! Queen Victoria was the reigning Monarch from 1837-1901. If you visit John Walter's 1901 house you'll see the portrait of Queen Victoria hanging in the parlor. Here's an interesting article about her Canadian connections and our holiday in her honour!
If only we still had John Walter's sawmill! I'm sure this big tree could have made some good lumber!
