- At Juniper Brewing Co. we are inspired by a passion for brewing great craft beer. We pledge to consistently offer the highest quality ales to the growing populous of enlightened consumers. We (Scott and Curtis) have been brewing together since 2006 and started out with our first batch on the kitchen stove. We soon were given the boot and landed out in the garage. We grew our setup and eventually took over about 1/3 of Scott’s shop. We have received several awards in various Homebrew Competitions along the way. Many of these same recipes will be introduced in our offering either as a standard production beer, or as seasonal/special batches. As we built up to a 1 BBL homebrew setup, we have taken brewing classes offered by COCC and online, been members of the Central Oregon Homebrewers Organization (COHO), received additional insight and help from some local commercial head brewers, and just done a lot of brewing to get our recipes to where we like them.
The Juniper tree we have silhouetted on our logo is an ancient beast that stands out front of our initial brewing location and long ago was given the name Old Roy. We so dubbed our IPA with the same name as an honorary tribute for standing the test of time. Our other beer names have come from other various inspirations. Our flagship beer, Jolly Black, and our Pat-Kat Porter, we named after some dear friends that helped inspire us personally on many levels. The Milkman Wit was named in honor of Pierre Celis, who nearly single handedly saved and brought back the Belgian Witbier style. Other beer names represent local icons, components of our High Desert community, or just associations that make us laugh. As we open our brewery and nurture it in its infancy, we hope that you will come join in our venture. We don’t expect everybody to like every beer we produce, but I would bet we will have something to offer that you will enjoy. Thank you in advance for your support!
